Can't watch due to quicktime :/ and I'm hell not infecting my computer with that ****, it's worse then a virus, nothing messes up my media library like quicktime!

I was almost in need of some tissue after seeing the new Raven as well as the station scaling. The Ambulation trailer gave me goosebumps, the beauty of the new graphics almost brought a tear to my eye.
Oh, and shame on those that thought the tissue was needed for other reasons!

Seriously, the scale of the stations is indeed impressive. I think it finally makes it look a lot more 'realistic' this way. Same goes for the jump gates.

However while the models and stations do look awesome, what about the rest of the environment? Will my new shiny Typhoon still shoot a one-frame flame when firing a 450mm projectile? Will the exhaust trail still block up and have these sharp edges when coming out of warp? And finally, did you speed up the jumping animation at last?

This patch is for ships, stations, and stargates. Effects, additional new models and other things will be coming out over several patches in 2008.

That's one of the things that bother me about eve and those trailers, you're never going to see it like that. Except for combat situations ships don't move pretty much, it's just warp, jump, warp, jump. Sometimes I wish there was no warp, like in JumpGate or Freelancer, with trade lanes only in deep empire.
But then the camera I circled around the Providence returns to my ship as I enter warp, and I think of my lengthy route across empire and take another look at my cargo to make sure I didn't forget it this time...

I remember in 2002 playing Earth and Beyond and hearing about Eve. Someone said it's "E&B on steroids" and I visited the website and found only the descriptions of the five Empires and the "Jovian Wetgrave" story (or whatever its called). I signed up and somehow got into Beta almost immediately.
It's been over five years now and I still am amazed at what CCP has created. These graphics will keep me around another five years!

I think it would be a great effect to add in for cloaking for example, with the difference that you ship disappears or reappears of course.

Nah, seriously, i'm with the guy who is praying for the 27th (tomorrow) release, however unlikely it is.
The video was bloody gorgeous, however, how are you going to incorporate the scale differences between the dx9 and the dx8 version? I'm only curious because i'm not sure whether my pc will run it on dx9 mode, my card does support shader 3.0, but its pretty low end (Geforce 7300GS ).

In 3D it is not hard to scale, you dont need to changew the models pr the textures, just scale the model. This can be done very easily once you have all the sizes figured out. Therefore when they scaled the sizes in trinity 2, they will scale them in trinity 1, because otherwise distances would be screwed.

The music was composed by Adam Skorupa and Pawel Blaszczak, the same guys that did the music for the Revelations I trailer, and this one was written specifically for us too. When I first got in touch with them, I asked them to provide us with something MOZO, and that's exactly what they did!

Very impressive models from the graphics team, however I didn't like the trailer, mostly because of the soundtrack. Choral OOHHH AAAHHH music is overused and a cop-out as it is very easy to edit to. Plus I simply dont like that sort of music.
Before I even played eve one of the things I liked about the way it was being presented to me was that the trailers had decent contemporary music on them - something that is vanishingly rare in the games industry. Its more difficult to do, and more expensive I expect, but the results speak for themselves.
Get the guy who used to do your trailers back. Theyve been on the slide since "no other destiny"

finally got it to download and view without being choppy and crappy cause of our work firewall and i have got to say, DAMN i may have to use my bonus to upgrade my GeForce FX 5900 card so ill be able to see all the new goodies.

This looks awesome, I can't wait for this to come in game. I really like the new ship sizes as well, it looks much cooler with stations/caps being huge compared to normal ships.

Ran just fine on RealPlayer for me. Just a matter of changing the file association over.
Thing is, the reason I touch neither of RealPlayer or QT is because they have a tendency of completely destroy the file type association, last time I had QT, I couldn't even get winamp to revert them, they where LOCKED to QT, same thing happened to RealPlayer a couple of years ago so I avoid them the best I can

The music was composed by Adam Skorupa and Pawel Blaszczak, the same guys that did the music for the Revelations I trailer, and this one was written specifically for us too. When I first got in touch with them, I asked them to provide us with something MOZO, and that's exactly what they did!
