I'm sure we old timers will make our presence felt when the time is right...
Have a nice day citizens.

Mabye if some people, like the ex-Saboath, had not sold out, they would still have influence, as the beloved PIE do.

Yes, back then they weren't oldtimers though, nor were there others there either, which most likely explains why they had to be influential back then. Today is the ballgame that is what matters though, and those old days matter only as a potential source of some connections to a minority of organisations and pilots that still exist. The majority out there are unknown to the older generations. To all but a few pilots out there Istvaan Shoogatsu is a total unknown, the same can be said about Torkaj or the whole former INO organisation.
As for the publisher of this rather flattering interview, why exactly does an amarrian newssource do an interview without any amarrians at the table? ________________________________

Vel I would like that to happen. It would be nice to see some of the 'oldtimers' show what they can do against the Minmatar terrorists.
The fact is that they have been getting annoying of late. Numerous small Corporations have been plaguing our systems and harrassing our traders. PIE and the CVA is at full stretch combating these Minmatar (and allies) ne'er do wells and anything which would help to put these terrorists on the backfoot would be welcomed.
I have a lot of respect for what was achieved in the past and clearly the 'oldtimers' have some great experience which we could probably all learn from. It is up to them to really show us what they can do rather than constantly reminiscing about the 'good ol' days'.

i would expect istvaan to be better known, since he *was* mentioned in the manual itself. in any regard however, i can not see it as a bad thing for the big players now to invest some time in their image and rp, aswell as, souping up politics to something beyond just shooting everything on sight.

We attempted to get a Sabaoth representitive but there were several communication issues which ultimately prevented it. The Amarr Network is an Amarrian news network, and so we post news that Amarrians care for. It doesn't matter where the news come from - if it's of interest to the Empire, it's good news. ________________________________ John "KnightDelta" Hicks Director of The Amarr Network |

I welcome both the return of Sabaoth and the re-emergence of the Amarr network.

I'm of a similar opinion to our long time sub-human enemy, if these Old-Timer have so much influence and backstage political power, bring it on.
The free Minmatar people will challenge you at every step, preferably with 1400mm fusion rounds

I'm not threatening anyone, all I was saying, that if people think they have political or behind-the-scenes clout, then damn well use it.
the 1400mm Fusion comment was based on the fact that you're all Amarrian, and hence deserve to die for your abominable crimes against the races you've enslaved, not a comment directed at any particular person.

I hope we do see more old timers in the future. We'd be better off for it. I'm gettin kinda old myself now that I think about it.

I threw out three refrences to old timer corps back there, and it didn't seem to stick.
You have just been superceeded came from when Hellgremlin put a new hole in his CEO's head and became the new CEO of Endless.
"Smell the Sea" was said often when the TSAOP people stormed the scene, and as I remember, were very effective.
And of course, "Have a nice day, Citizen" comes from Deadline and Sabbaoth.
Can anyone else come up with some tag lines that were dominant during the 'olden' days? --------------------------------------------------

You'll (be allowed to) see one thing, while something else is truly going on.
True, real power is never seen. (the second it is, the power is gone - Dear HG himself brilliantly demonstrated this way back when, when he had to brag a bit... Thus proving both extremes...)
Who is the most powerfull - The general with an army, or the (wo)man who wrote the report that made the general order his men to war...
Sure, some conflicts are simply a clash over a mining field or a "dont cross our border", but others are 'designed' well in advance... BIG Lottery
