Literally anyone can run. You don't like it, make some ripples and change it yourself.

Because you don't understand how powerful a force influence is (assuming you have social skills), and how much you can accomplish with it. Just look at this CSM, and the results they pushed for (Crucible as opposed to Incarna 2.0).
For example, if there is a single Gallente player who dislikes this CSM, all I can say is they are incredibly poorly informed victims of propaganda. That was pretty much White Trees main issue during the TEST primaries. |

It's just the mentality. Collective stupidity. I can't really pinpoint it. I just dislike them. It's not about how they play, not at all.

I don't disagree with how you play the game. If it wasn't for you guys, there would be even more bozos out there trying to turn the game into a dry desert of peace. And no, i can't recall encountering any of you, and unlike the bozos i accept the fact that when i lose a ship/pod, it is and will always be my own fault.

I have a feeling that when the goons maintain their position in the CSM (hint: they will), you're still going to refuse to accept that its what the majority of EVE's players want. Classic problem of democracy - when people you don't agree with wins, *obviously* the vote was flawed. After all, everyone you know agrees with you! Birds of a feather. One of my detractors has been quoting a statement I made a while ago in which I stated that there is no reason to dislike Goonswarm for its success in the CSM, because the reason that Goonswarm has been successful is directly tied to the system working as it was designed and intended to work. To be fair, Goons don't need to advocate for the New Player Experience, since none of the new players joining Goonswarm have to deal with the New Player Experience in High Security space. Our newbies come straight out to Null Sec and learn out here to play the game in the company of hundreds of people willing to "spoil them," as you put it. I am standing up for the New Player Experience not because it benefits me or my coalition, but because it is the right thing to do.

If you're stupid enough to believe that, go ahead. Truth is, we just recruit from Something Awful. Don't even bother trying to throw that blanket on a forum with 150k+ members. I believe it was you where i got the idea from ... that you spoil people and everything. Can't tell for sure, but it was a goon who i got it from. You just don't get it do you Lyris?
No-one cares if you are cleverer than them.
No-one cares about inductive references.
Many on these forums, rightly or wrongly, don't like Goons. They think that they are a bunch of griefers and gankers that ruin the game for new starters (that don't come from SA), and drive away subscribers. It doesn't matter whether their logic is correct or not, that's how many feel.
You are associated via your massive posting numbers and the letters under your portrait with that, again rightly or wrongly.
It also looks like many within Goonswarm don't much like the fact that everyone thinks you speak for them, when you actually don't.
Pointing out that their logic is flawed because of its inductive references will not change their mind.
So why don't you just tell us what you stand for, aside from voter reform (which will not get you elected, by the way)? |

And of course I thought it was that the Mittani spoke for us? At least it seems rather likely he represents someone's interests and, well, I don't think it would be people who prefer less explosions, more supercaps or more CONCORD. (I might be wrong on the last one.) |

I stand for representing the entire EVE Online community to the best of my ability, because it is my belief that listening to all of the constituents is the only forthright and conscientious way to serve as an elected representative. To this end, I have been making threads and joining discussions to ask people exactly what they think about various issues and aspects of the game, and thereby soliciting them for their expressed desires. That is my one campaign promise: that I will to the best of my ability present to CCP with reasoned arguments the expressed desires of the constituency.
To that end, I have assembled a platform which addresses many aspects of the game. Here's a few things off the top of my head which is not at all to be construed as a complete list. With respect to the fact that this thread is now in Jita Park, it was originally in General Discussion and never was it my intention that this thread would be my candidacy thread so you can look forward to a more complete list in the near future with a better-presented format in its own thread.
Regarding High Security Space
- Get rid of the period of time during which a POS is literally invulnerable;
- Address the relative imbalance of High Security "deathstar/dickstar" POS versus the power required to remove them;
- Get rid of the dialog box and automatic deactivation of modules that occurs when using remote assistance modules on an entity which has received aggression from a new source, or make it an option to disable it;
- Add to entities using remote assistance modules on an second entity with aggression a full aggression timer, which like any other aggression timer prohibits docking or activating star gates;
- Proposal for the iteration of missions with the Incursion-style AI and functionality to provide group PVE content at all levels of missions so that people have an in game reason to work together, similar to instanced dungeons in traditional MMO games;
- Proposal for the review of and alteration of Level 5 missions with regards to the proposed "Incursion-style missions," in the previous point, which would have a separate functionality;
- Introduce an active module which "cloaks" the contents of a ship's cargo bay
Regarding Low Security Space
- Oppose the introduction of interdiction bubbles to Low Sec, to preserve its unique gameplay;
- Address the fact that Low Sec is divided into two classifications, 0.4, and 0.3 and below, with regards to anchorable structures at POS
- With regards to the above, modify the anchoring requirements for starbase structures, particularly those involved in drug manufacturing, to be anchorable in all low security systems
- Iterate faction warfare with unique, non-mission objectives and means to produce rewards - in short, doing the PVP portion of Faction Warfare should be more profitable if done optimally than running Level 4 missions in a stealth bomber
- Introduce non-Sansha, faction specific Incursion-style raids on non-Faction Warfare systems

No, democracy doesn't empower the masses, it empowers the biggest group of people who believe voting makes a difference. That group does not necessarily have to be "the masses".
This biggest group can be anything from 1% to 100% from all who are allowed to vote, but usually is 1% to 100% from all who vote, which normally is far less than 100% of all those who are allowed to vote. :)
Democracy is a PITA. People just like it because they believe they have a say in things. Those who are observant enough will realize that it's just a huge scam, unless one lives in switzerland ... and even there i'm not so sure about it. Inappropriate signature removed. Spitfire |

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and judging from the amount of people that will be running for a position on the CSM there will be a lot of opinions floating about. If everyone on the council agrees with eachother there is no real need to have more than one person on it.
This makes it all the more important to distinguish between the different candidates. Since you and The Mittani are both members of Goonswarm it might already be asked but:
What are the things, regarding the topics you'll advocate on behalf of the EVE community, that are in contradiction to the ones The Mittani will favour?
