I don't think i am the only one that has checked out the new models on SISI and been more than a little disappointed in comparision to the latest trailer + the released screenshots from CCP.
For instance, a CCP released screenshot of the moros:
CCP Moros Trinity screenshot
Compare it to a recent moros pic from a player:
Player made Moros Trinity screenshot
The actual texture quality of the ship itself seems pretty close but all lighting and post-processing effects seem to be missing. Basically, the released screenshots do not seem to resemble the current models on SISI.
I really would like some sort of official confirmation that the CCP released screenshots are what people will actually be able to achieve once the patch eventually gets to TQ.
Is the current build missing lots of graphic options that are yet to come? Specifically, post-processing options and the like that just do not seem to be in the current build.
For those who say the graphics are close to what the trailer and released screenshots show then please, prove it. Post a similar screen to that CCP moros picture and i will just shut the hell up!

This.
Alot of the screenshots I've seen are without Bloom and AA turned on. We can't know how close things are unless we know if the person taking the screenshots had all the effects turned on or not. ---------------- Tarminic - 29 Million SP in pink Forum Warfare |

Come on, a bit of bloom and aa are not going to transform the second picture into the first picture. --------------------------------------------------- Cake Factory: Bulk discounted T2, BS BPC's. |

not only that...
the shaders in the models now refelct nebuli light differently depending on its color and brightness.
your showing 2 different screen shots there, 1 in a station with station lighting and one in space, head to a system then screen shot it. this isnt down to HDR and AA, once you have gone in to space, then fly through a few different systems. you will find that FD- is a very oddly lit system.
some systems my ship looks awsome, some it looks overly shiny and fugleh.
its down to the ambient light in the system, not the models.

From screenshots I'm rather disappointed aswell to be honest, as they are a pretty far cry from the images CCP has been feeding us. If you promise someone a Ferrari Enzo for 6 months, and then give them a BMW M3 instead, they'll be diappointed even if the M3 is still a kickass car.
But, I'll hold off on making a final assessment until I get home from work and can have a look on SISI. ---

What is on SISI is indeed the dx9 graphics since last night. Don't comment on subjects you obviously haven't looked into.
Pity the devs seem to ignore critical posts on the expansion tho ---

The thanatos has the same problem with those patches of baby blue. I am going to pay more attention to my settings tonight to see if I can get it to look like the screenshots.

All of the trailers are rendered at huge resolutions with *massive* post-processing. I would guess that we're talking things like several dozen passes of antialiasing, much bigger texture sizes, global illumination and triple precision HDR here. These trailers are not FRAPSed in real time, they are rendered frame by frame directly from the engine! This level of quality can likely not be rendered in real time!
Further, once the video has been rendered, it is then taken to digital video processing tools and edited thoroughly. Things like the effect of the new skin blending over the old ship hull are done there, as well as further lighting and contrast corrections (I point thee at the Nyx), and who knows what else. Out comes a shiny trailer that makes lots of people need new pants.
Mind, I've seen videos from SiSi, and I'm more than happy enough with the quality of graphics there!

Then the question is WHY? WHY have they done that? WHY have they pretty much guarateed that people will be disappointed by showing better GFX than they can actually deliver? It has always been kind of a EVE trademark that trailers is a real representation of what you get in the game... ---

Hey, I hear that the new graphics were generated using voodoo witchdoctors and a 37lb monkey.
Instead of continuing this debate with baseless accusations and pointless speculation, why doesn't someone with a good computer get on SiSi and test some of these theories out?

I cant help noticing that in one image the ship is flying in space being illuminated by a blue sun and in the other its sitting in a station. HMMMMMM i wonder why they both looked different cant ahve been beause of the lighting conditions....could it?
Seriously tho in station all ships look like this because of the lighting in stations is all around and diffused. In space tho lighting comes mainly from one source and can be differnt hues and colours [the sun].

You mean in-game post-processing right? Not photoshop/premiere post-processing, right? 'Cos if it's the latter it's basically a lie, right?
Look, i am not the sort to whine but after seeing that latest trailer i have never been more excited about any game/patch than after seeing that. I've seen much better player taken screenshots of the Moros than that, which more closely resemble the one in the trailer. Also, as far as I'm aware, CCP are still adjusting things here and there, so what we get on SiSi now is not likely entirely final.

One is a crap screenshot (no offence but some people are taking really crappy screenshots at the moment) in a station, the other is in space with the light source behind it so that self shadowing occurs...

comparing teh previe ferox with my sis ferox it seems that the trinity trailer ferox was offline rendered. quite a shame that ccp has to resort to tricks like this..
SIS vs Trailer Ferox
this was made with:
Shadows: Extreme Bloom: high 6 x AA 16 x HQ Anisotropic Filtering
probably some newer grfx cards can do better, but i doubt this will make such a difference. Imho Trinity Trailer was offline rendered..

It's also like real life, you can look very ugly under a certain light and way better on an other.
It wouldn't surprise me either if there were some photoshoping here and there thought.

Perhaps CCP have recognised that while the graphics accurately represented EVE, the gameplay did not, thus they have now switched to depicting something which is completely unlike the real game in all aspects?
I wouldn't mind if the trailer didn't start with "all things are rendered with the game" (paraphrased), thus suggesting that this is actually what it looks like, when it's not. I mean, it's nice, but it's not that nice.

Yeah, as I see it people are panicking because most screenshots taken by the players are with poor settings.

The CCP shots have HDR turned to max, I turned mine one and it looks pretty darn close. I don't have the highest end video card which is likely where the difference is.
