Originally by: Patch86 Thanks. I agree, all the T1 ships look horrible. Looks like they were designed by an ungodly hybrid of Gene Rodenberry and Mattel.
EDIT: For the record, the colour schemes for most of the T2 variants are pretty sexy though. Its just that bizarre pale-grey/pastel blue combo. The Dominix looks even fuglier in the new colours than it does now- and that is a true achievement.
i absolutely agree with this.. the gallente t1 ships really does look horrible ________

Clearly you dont broaden your perspective much. Here, let me help you out:
More insights into why Baby Blue just doesn't work
And also my thoughts for Tarminic in another thread:
Quote: as far as players are concerned when playing any internet online games, graphics are one of the main reasons why we play. Theres a very good reason why bright kid colors aren't on games like EVE-online, simply because it doesn't at all match the theme EVE carries. And if it doesn't promote the theme EVE-online is build around, then the color can just as effectively throw off the gameplay as equally as any graphic glitches or programming errors, etc.
And my original post has a lot of valid constructive thoughts and logics behind it.
As far as I'm concerned, you're merely complaining about our constructive criticism and what not. Has nothing to do with "whining" (since that term seems to be the only term a lot of the players knows how to use and not much skills into dealing back equal constructive criticism. A shame, really).
*sigh* you missed my point. I was trying to get across that the vast majority of these threads are based on culture perceptions of what the color cyan represents. As such they are invalid because the EVE community is and international one. Cultures will have different perspectives on this color and what it represents.
The vast majority of threads on this subject are from westernized cultures who see cyan as a non-masculine color and as such deride it. It is silly ... very silly.
I read your post ... and I disagree with your take. If you do not like the colour scheme ... well sorry but tough. Tolerance is a double edged sword.

Edited by: OldWolfe on 28/11/2007 21:21:48 Thats fine and thats also true. However, since the Gallente is French-like, it has nothing really much to do with westernized thinking. All CCP has to do is make it more French-like in a more darker hue/tone that matches EVE-online's overall theme.
Sure, everything we have in our society is a factor in how we see things. But I'm looking at EVE's society and other ships/cultures/backgrounds/etc and can see the use of cyan misrepresenting the Gallente race.

I don't like the colour, but not because it is effeminate. Frankly, Gallente ARE effeminate...
I don't like it because the pale grey / pale blue thing looks plasticy. It reminds me of those cheap looking children's spaceship toys that I used to play with as a kid. It also reminds me of the horrible uniform grey-white of Star Trek spaceships, which I've always felt looks tackily like a throw back to it's 1960's design origins.
All the ships in EVE have always had a fairly dark colour scheme. Caldari are grey-black, Minmatar are dark reddy-brown, Gallente were always shades of suede-y green and blue, and even the extravagant Amarrian gold was an orangey bronzed gold.
The new Gallente colour scheme is too bright, too pale, and too cartoony. Knock it down a few shades and it'd be fine. ------

First, this is my main character. I have two accounts, both mains fly strictly Gallente Ships. I have seen screenshots of the new ships and I hate the "new blue". I don't even call it baby clue, I have a much worse phrase for it ISD wouldn't allow on the forums.
I have been all for Gallente since day one. I'm not a French advocate, I chose Intaki for both my characters and the Intaki description says nothing of descending from French ancestry.
Prior to Trinity, Gallente were very unique in the ship department and that's what I liked most about their ships. Caldari have their Star Wars-ish boxy grey designs, Amarr flash the golden shiny armor ships, Minmatar... well, to be nice, we all know what Matari ships look like ... However, Gallente ships were all different, they had all different colors. From the orange and white shuttle to the dark grey plated Incursus, from the puke green color of the Exequoror to the Silvery Myrmidon and back to the ugly brown boot color of the Dominix. Each Gallente ships was unique in itself. Now we're having a theme forced upon us. It's not a unique fleet of ships anymore and I may be just one voice, but I don't like it.
I'm not going to say that I will quite playing Eve or even that I will stop flying Gallente. I'm just saying that I'm a paying customer just like the other 200,000 of us and I don't like where the theme has gone.
(For those too lazy to find them on their own and need everything handed to them in a basket)...
Atron Brutix Catalyst (was always blue and I'm fine with that) Celestis Dominix Exequror Gallente Shuttle Hyperion Imicus Incursus Iteron Iteron Mk II Iteron Mk III Iteron Mk IV Iteron Mk V Megathron Moros Myrmidon Navitas Nyx Obelisk Thorax Tristan Vexor

I think the current SiSi version doesn't have all graphics features enabled.
The Gallente ships look much cooler in the official Trinity trailer, pretty dark with metallic gloss.

Gal isn't only going to be nerfed in Trinity. We are going to be smurfed!
Really I'll hold judgment until I see them on TQ. What they are doing to the color of the ships is much less concern to me then the nerfs.

Oh god this is getting ridiculous.
Men crying like babies about "baby-blue" because it's too childish. Oh the irony.
Like I said in one of the 39423874 threads about the topic "Learn to adapt. This is not the game you've been playing for 4 years."

what a stupid post, spend your time answering one of the well worded arguments in this thread instead.
and i agree with the op with that the new colours dont seem to represent the deadly ships they are, the trailer looked so much better - darker. -

First off, I spend my time how I want to spend my time. Secondly, I express an opinion and I've expanded it elsewhere.
Thanks. Good night.
