This was back when we were in S-U, there were typically 300+ in local at primetime, and never less then 100. This was also before they nerfed stabs, so all the snipers had at least one. That was when were still noobswarm, fish in a barrel!

You lose points on escrow and warp to 15km. But an excellent post nonetheless, thanks to actual intelligent tactics for pre-warp-to-0km.
Also remember that back then, probing was much harder (though I had never tried it back then)...

Ahaha, I remember this. I helped test it once or twice, although I can't remember who made it.
It was absolute magic and, if the FC was accustomed to the process, took about 30 seconds from the time WTF got the order to warp in to when the target was tackled. At the time, that was quite a bit faster than probing. Besides which, we had maybe 20 goons who could fly covops, of which maybe 5 actually had them on hand.

I was once working on something similar, though the coverage was for a grater area and only using 8 bookmarks and two covert pilots. As such different, but many of the same ideas.
Cudos to you if it really worked as well as claimed. My system never did...

Brilliant idea. Did you worked out what was the minimal amount of bookmarks for warping gang with given warp accuracy? 50 sounds like a bit too many for 20km accuracy and I think you don't need less than scramble range accuracy anyway.
To those who see it as a cheat and metagaming: if you don't like using spreadsheet you can make all the calculations in your head.

Originally by: Merrick Solipsus So a sniper, knowing theres hostiles in system, sees 3 of said hostiles at different bookmarks around the gate, and actually stays there long enough for these positions to be reported, run through a spreadsheet/calculator, then wait for the hostile gang to warp to him?

Eve is all about the spreadsheets.
if they're getting this to work for them, fair play tbh.

It's a good job Goons don't take the game too seriously.

Indeed. Myself, and I suspect many others, would greatly benefit from a "Basics Workshop" to teach us one or two of these neat tricks. Perhaps KOS could step up and host one? --

Works with hostile systems as well. You put your three pilots named Whiskey, Tango and Foxtrott into Covert Ops Frigates. These guys move out and bookmark the systems cloaked. After that, they hop into their T1 Frigates and warp in to report the distance for their fleet. Perfect! I can't believe how deadly and precise Goons operate. ---
