Quote: Now people can knock BRUCE all they want, but they managed to put together over 300 people last night, over a third of them in battleships to shut us down. Call it a blob or whatever; I call it determination and trying to make a point. We just had a surprise they weren't expecting last night, which is the entire point of warfare. Had they chosen to, they could have pushed the issue with their second fleet but by then we had jumped a sizable capital force into PC9 and for all BRUCE knew there was a second or third titan on standby as well. All things considered, they made a choice and called it a night.
The reason why those who know BRUCE knock them isn't because they blob, it's why they blob. They "manage" to put together hundreds of people all the time, for use against far, far less capable gangs than what you guys were fielding (they do after all have a pool of 2700+ pilots to draw from). It wasn't to shut you down or to prove a point; rather it was the forces they had calculated necessary to ensure that you would not engage them. As an organization their "victories" are achieved by overwhelming "show of force" and ensuring their opponents will not engage them, and they'll wait and wait and wait until they've gathered the necessary numbers to achieve that. Their defeats occur whenever their opponents decide to go ahead and engage them anyway. The reason they didn't push the issue and engage with the 2nd fleet is the same reason they fielded 100+ BSs and 350 odd pilots to begin with, it was to avoid any combat from actually taking place. It had nothing to do with the possibility of a 2nd or 3rd DD. Had they known about the titan they would have continued with their orders to stay docked against MC, not because of the potential losses from a DD blast, but because it meant that you intended to engage their fleet and there's nothing they could have done to prevent that from happening.
Now I know this will probably be taken as smack and I'm sure the brucelings will come out of the woodwork to discredit my observations, but I mean no disrespect to either BRUCE or MC. I'm simply shedding light as to why so many feel the way they feel about bruce. There's a reason why within BRUCE itself their pilots refer to Friedrick as Cyvok 2.0 and they jokingly call themselves the next ASCN or refer to themselves "empire builders" rather than a pvp organization. Most of their efforts are designed, in part, towards avoiding pvp.
