Hello everyone!
This note is to give you a heads up on our plans to increase prices over the next two months.
For over three years, Red Frog Freight has not raised its prices. But the cost of doing business has risen dramatically:
- Freighter prices are now well over 1.2B -- double what they were just one year ago.
- PLEX prices are now over 500M -- 150M more than a year ago.
- Freighter ganking is on the rise, especially with the introduction of Tier 3 Battlecruisers.
- Business is booming and attracting new recruits is an ongoing issue.
For these reasons and more, weGÇÖre planning the following:
- 1 May, the setup fee will go to 750K ISK, and each jump will be 400K ISK
- 1 June, the setup fee will go to 1M ISK, and each jump will be 450K ISK
Our goal is simple: bring the rewards back in line with both inflation and risk, while simultaneously making hauling freight sufficiently profitable that we can attract new recruits.

Hi,
first thanks again for the good service I am using gladly for years now!
I have a question to your upcoming price change.
Does this price change also come with an increase of your collateral limit?
I understand if you say: "EvE scaled up, so our prices must so too."
But the same argument also holds for the collateral limit.
Remember during the times of inflation not only your cost increase, but also the number of items we could put into a contract with given collateral limit becomes smaller.
I could imagine you argue: "But EvE become a more harsh place in the meantime as well! We cannot increase the collateral limit with all those tier 3 Battlecruisers around!"
But i am not sure if this is true. The ship costs for the suicide gankers also scaled up. And remember they removed the insurance payouts for suicide ganker some times ago!

While it is true that everything got up, the "break even" of ganking didn't changed much.
even with the insurance removal on concorded ship, it require now less Tornado then Typhoon to gank a freighter. as low as 9 if you got a really skilled crew, where it was 12 or 13 typhoon before.
at some point in january, we should have reduced that to 700 or 800m, but it would have upset a lot of people. now with the price raise on the module (tornado didn't changed much) it bring back the break even at 1b.

thanks for the info!
I wonder if there is statistical data about this.
Your anual reports 2011 says that there where 16 failed contracts in 2011, but it does not say how many due to suicide ganking. I cannot find the reports of the other years.. It would be interesting to compare these numbers to the losses at the beginning of this years and the losses before the insurance nerf.
After looking a bit arround it seems that your Blue Frog services are what I am in need of :-)

If I remember correctly, we lost 5 contracts du to ganking in 2011. it was 0 in 2010, and 2 in 2009. (those are pulled from memory and might not be acurate!)
for 2012, we're already at 8.

Even though Red Frog Freight was "busy level" Kraken, they hauled my contract a fair distance quickly.
As for the gank statistics, that's interesting...still, at RFF doing - what - something like 5000+ contracts per month, pretty good odds.
I'm listening to-áBj+¦rk, playing EVE, eating fishsticks, and I'm cold....this is immersion gaming. |

I for one support these price changes. I'd rather pay slightly more than have such a great service stop because nobody wants to haul for RFF anymore.
Anyway, you guys are life savers... one of those things that you don't know what you did w/o before. |

trusthworthy people & services (even in unregular circumstances)... keep up the good work...
as for the prices going up : i couldnt agree more, especially when its more like an inflation reglementation then a real "increase"... it was about time that the reallyy hardworking ppl to aquire some well earned iskies...
as a matter of fact IF someone is to be blaimed for all the inflation and crazy prices those are, in this speciffic order, 1st - the market manipulators, 2nd - the station traders and 3rd - the highsec incursions farmers... while i cant arguee too much about the 3rd category - since they actually DO something, i cant help myself hating BIG the 1st and 2nd groups of parasits... grrr |
