Edited by: Churchyard on 08/03/2004 20:26:01 Change the max cargo capacity to 500m¡¦ instead of 27500m¦.
tbh I cant think of a single good reason why this would be a bad idea...
It would make mining less profitable, witch is a good thing. Mining is
THE way to make money these days, I know, I made 50 mill in one evening solo mining crok in 0.0... Thats a lvl2 bs in 2 days lol
I could never have made these amounts of isk if I didnt have the ability
to use jettison cans...
Post your opp. please

No. Don't. If it was done that way, all you would have to do is just jetisson thousands of cans .

Very VERY bad idea...

I can list them and they will be direct COUNTER points to your points.

Ok first off... Mining will become WAY more profitable. Instead of seeing the BASE minerals being 1 isk you will see them bing 10 isk, because the miner would have to wait to jettison the can ever two minutes OR rely on a army of frigates to mine which would have to jettison still every two minutes. If you want to start buying civilian shield boosters at 10 million isk... please implement this. If you want to buy a battleship at around 1 billion isk... please implement this... if you are retarded... PLEASE implement this.

Well good for you, I'm sure that you never skilled a single day to be able to mine in 0.0 or use tech 2 mining lasers. WAIT WAIT... yes you did... you spent TIME and real life money to train up your character so you can do that. If you are bored... go be an anti-pirate you will loose plenty of money that way on your own.

Refer to previous post. Sorry about thet angry response but this is really a nerf that would kill this game if followed... so really I hope you were being sarcastic otherwise I will join the Devs in "rolling my eyes" From Ashes to Ashes... From Dust to Dust....

Mining becomes harder -> Mining becomes unprofitable -> Mining becomes unpopular -> Less Minerals at the Market -> Minerals become more expensive -> Mining becomes more profitable.
And of course ... everything becomes WAY more expensive ... it won't effect the profit miners make ...
AND ... solo mining shouldn't be possible anymore after the recent patch.

Edited by: Churchyard on 09/03/2004 03:27:39 Edited by: Churchyard on 09/03/2004 03:26:39 Ships and gear should be more expensive... The way its now most of us are flying around in battleships, and half of us dont really have the skills to use tham properly. If ships cost 2-3 times more more ppl would be using frigs and cruisers and only the ones with loads of isk and rally good skills would fly battleships.
Anyway I read somewhere that the devs didnt plan that the can's would be used for dumping ore in while mining, we where supose to fill our cargo holds and return to station to unload
Oh and an increase in the time it takes to jettison a new can from 2 to 10 mins would be nice!

nerf the jettison cans - no probs :)
but make the bought cans have a much bigger size when assembled - and make them able to be assembled/unassembled in space (ie, jettison the can - assemble it to get huge size, mine into that)
but standard jettison cans - bah... -----

well that's great that way only a select few will be flying around in battle ships but ofcourse you will be one of them or else you wouldn't have suggested it right

i have sugested before that cargo cans should be the same size as the hold of the ship that dropped it, if you get a hauler to drop a can in a mining session that same hauler cimes back and takes the entire can back into his ship,

I would be all for nerfing Jet Cans, but only after making somekind of assembled can to take its place. This would at least introduce a cost to the mining proccess.

One thing that is scheduled for shiva are cargo containers, bigger than jet ones, and secure and armored like secure ones. However, i could be wrong and these could just be the cans we have now. But eh. "I'm comin' for ya, and Hell's comin' with me!" |

Mining is tedious enough already. Using jet cans is the only thing that makes it bearable. It's already difficult enough to get decent ships.
Yes - a miner can make loads of cash, with the following prereqs:
1) got a good enough ship & equipment 2) aquired the skills to get a decent yield (& fly their ship) 3) spent the time scouting for decent ore 4) set up in their mining system 5) survived their mining sessions 6) hauled their ore/mins to somewhere they can be sold 4) found buyers for their ore/mins rather than having to use the nerfed npc orders 5) are prepared to put up with the tedium of chopping rocks for HOURS on end
Which, I think, BLOODY WELL ENTITLES THEM TO WHATEVER THEY GET!!!
Good grief man, what's wrong with you? ____________________________________________

This would be just the most crippling nerf inthe history of EVE...bye, bye, mining operations...
So leave the cans as they are.
Patience wins. |
