It seems that 9/10 people are petitioned for names that one must really struggle with to loosely fit into the "offensive" category. This usually happens because someone one blew up a bear, whose only response is to mean spiritedly petition names. Then the GMs tend to correct names, like Doctor Rectum for example, even though there are 50 other characters in EvE with rectum as part of their name that won't be corrected.

Changing offensive or lewd names is not pushing your morals on someone else anyway. CCP owns the servers, the game, etc, and as such, they can enforce whatever rules they want. If you don't like it, don't play, but don't act like people are shoving their morals on anyone. Freedom of speech has nothing to do with this whatsoever. It protects the individual from the government suppressing or censoring speech. It has nothing to do with a privately owned and operated game about internet spaceships.

To use an expression oft seen on this forum, apt to the level of this thread: Fail. I'm from northern Europe. And the post you quoted has little to do with my views, Doctor Rectum is vulgar in any society. Whether you like vulgar or not is another issue entirely. I for one dislike Doctor Rectum partly because it's vulgar, but mostly because it's early/pre- teen humour. Past that period it's not humour at all, it's just silly, in a bad way.
