@ cloned soul: right, this thread has gotten slightly out of hand. Experimenting with the character editor and showing your results is all fine, but there is a markable decline of new and original ideas in this thread (kudos to generals4 btw, interesting new concept) and everything degraded more or less into a "rate my boobs"-circlejerk.
@corinna jarr: personally, I think this is the scariest avatar around and she always creeps me out. It's about the eyes that don't look at the camera but slightly besides it. Combined with the lack of expression on the face and the pale skin, it always reminds me of victorian death photographs.... -.- |

I think the pose needs a slight adjustment so that your right eye doesn't look, umm.. off. And maybe some different lighting. Not bad. |

@ Zimmy Zeta...
Have you ever seen Joel Peter Witkins work? Pretty incredible black and white photography, almost always "set up" in disturbing/grotesque style scenes. He reciprocates classical paintings in photography quite often too. I have 3 or 4 of his art books. Great stuff. If you run into more than 2 a**holes in a day, you should probably look in the mirror. |

Character AND good use of background. Very solid. 9/10.
@Zimmy: Your avatar has always been amazing. Sort of a mona lisa in the sense that it is a very difficult expression to recreate, yet you managed to. Don't listen to the haters. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

@Akirei: A lot of people go for the youthful look and end up looking weak. Grats on a pose and expression that shows balances the port out nicely. 9/10 only because I personaly prefer the "looking at you" poses. CEO, SHADOWKNIGHTsecurites-á|| -á"Your-áLight in the Darkness." |

@Tessa Scyne: I like the face and expression. The pose, maybe also due to the clothes, looks very rigid, though, which doesn't fit the mischievous smile. I still like it and it has a high recognition value, imo :) Background fits great, too. 9/10 |

@ shogun archer: OK, I did a short google search and noticed that I already know some of his work, but I have to admit that I didn't know his name. As a long-time /x/ denizen I have seen pictures like these posted regularly. But in all honesty, they are a little too "artistic" for my taste, if you wanna creep people out less is always more; I like those deeply disturbing ancient b/w pictures where you don't have the slightest idea what's going on but somehow feel nauseated, stuff like this (open at own risk): http://i.imgur.com/K3W6u.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Sdn7Z.jpg
@Akirei Scytale: why, thank you very much kind sir. Slightly wondering why you are changing your avatar so often, it has always been a good one (ok, that stuff with the white shirt and J-Pop emo haircut was a little off, but all other versions have been really nice).
@ Serena Serene: Good picture, I can see that you put some effort into it. But it doesn't work for me. Too few shadows, skin too smooth and the eyes don't look realistic at all. Then the glossy lips that look almost photorealistic. If you want to go for the comicbook-look, you should remove the gloss effects from the lips and maybe beef up the contrasts a little more. If you want to go for the realistic look, do something about the eyes and maybe change the lightning.
I wonder if it is even possible to derail a thread that is already 280 pages long... Sounds like a challenge to me, so feel free to post creepy black and white pictures! -.- |

Like the look of the avatar, but there seems to be too much background competing for attention. May just be me though. 8/10 |

Nice color, lighting, everything's just polished up good. The only gripe I'd have (being picky) is that the eyes need a bit more life/personality. 9/10 |

Fish lips are fishy... that lipstick may be the most outrageously awful thing i've seen in a while, frankly. Not only makes your lips look like fish lips, but also they look fake. It's hard to judge the rest so will give out a 5/10 because ti's not randomyzed, at least. Changing the eyes to the way I want it to is not possible, at least without breaking the pose and framing. Thank you though. As for yours, the chin's indeed a bit too long. Other than the lighting, the rest is very well done, especially the eyes. 7.5/10
@Goremageddon Box, as Fazmarai mentioned, the lipstick was just, awful. Especially because the other parts were very good, I love what you've done with the skin and lighting, the framing's also pretty good. 7/10
@Ishtanchuk Fazmarai, I agree with what others have mentioned on previous posts regarding your avatar, while I don't personally like it (it's a matter of taste really), yours were actually pretty good. I can point out what I don't like, but that's probably irrelevant cause you seem to know what you're doing. 7.5/10 Don't like spaceships sandbox? then this is not the game for you. Well, I was taking a risk in doing an apparently simple formal pose, as it looks like nothing... but then it was difficult to make it look natural, get the hair wave naturally and preserve the exposure of the right earring (lots of shoulder/head work until it all fell into position, then cross fingers so it would stick through the final render). By all means this portrait is more labor-expensive than Indahmawar's latest... It's very clear that the avatar is very well done, I like Indah's better for obvious reasons, mainly because she has a stronger character.
@Lee Ann Reed, You managed to make a simple pose looks good and I like what you've done with the face. The background doesn't quite fit unfortunately, spreads the focus from the avatar towards the back from the lack of contrast. 8/10 Don't like spaceships sandbox? then this is not the game for you.
