First impression would be a bouncer on a mid end corporate bar, even the lighting supports that and the semi-issued clothing.
Overall everything seems to works quite well toghether. There is nothing that pops out as being wrong or horrible, but there is nothing specially good either.
No , correction, the end of the previous sentence is wrong, but for the right reasons.. or was it right for the wrong reasons?
I like the non-legit smile, it works for me because in my head you just said to someone to **** off, very diplomatically of course and as a cherry on top you gave him/her/it this toned down smug smile just to annoy the **** them 
And that mental image comes together will all the other aspects very well.

One of the few Achura that doesn't look creepy and dead inside (it's those eyes!). I quite like it, perhaps a lighter hair color for more contrast with the background, but it's very solid, and the face sculpt is fantastic.
8.5/10.

Overall very good. I like the dark straight hair....nothing complicated. However, the eyes need adjusting. They dont look real. Mabey slant them a bit or/and darken them a bit with more eyeshadow.

First what's wrong: lighting. It matches well the bakcground, but a dark character in a dark setting against a dark background is more an exercise of invisibility than a portrait. Which is a pity as the features look nice, a no-nonsense warrior with a kind spirit. I don't buy the p+¼ercings but that's one of my gripes... so will call it 7.5/10, with potential if the lighting improves. Also would suggest changing the light source so the higlight behind the dreads on the left is gone -try light color #7.

Nice jacket. Simple cut, no fuss, with a lot of pockets to keep engineering tools in and, if need be, it can be modular dismantled to supply all the duct tape needed to reinforce a hull breach or a leaking engine core.

I like the look of your portrait... almost like you just leaned into a room to see what's happening. While I'm a fan of a little more light, this works well for you, appearing in the shadows! Clothes of good cut and combination, orderly looking.

I find the lighting could use some adjustment and the background makes your character blander than she actually is. I do like that you used that hairstyle and made it look good. Face tats aren't my cup of tea usually either, but here it works very nicely. Nice and original without feeling forced.
Overall I like it a lot.
8/10 due to the background.

It's space Ellen DeGeneres! Lan looks like she's been caught mid joke with that small quirky style, though I'd probably have her head slightly more turned towards the camera. As it is she looks like that if someone calls her name from behind she'll crack something trying to look over her shoulder at them. My only other criticism is that at a distance the left hand of her jacket almost blends in with the background strip. Not saying the background doesn't suit the lighting (It's pitch perfect), but maybe think about choosing a top which doesn't sink into it.
All in all, a deserved 8/10. |
