Hi,
I am unable to get anti-aliasing to function with the new engine. Graphic card is a brand new 8800GT. Tested in other games and AA works just fine there, be it built-in AA or forced through driver AA. Corp mate has a 8800GTS and same issue as me. OS is WindowsXP Pro 32. Driver is up to date. HDR is NOT enabled. I have tried using nHancer but no luck so far (have to mention that I am rather new to this tool though so I am still trying through different tweaks).
Anyone else with this problem ? Any known workaround ? Is CCP aware of the issue and should I bug report it ?
Regards.

Same issue here. AA isn't working when using eve application to control antialias settings. I must admit I haven't yet tried overriding AA in the driver or third party util.

Can't use AA either, even when I force it. Was working on SiSi Trinity and normal client.
I have a GeForce 7800 GT.
OS WinXP x64
Driver up to date.
Doesn't work either with HDR disabled or enabled with nHancer fix.

It works with my GTS (using nhancer). Did you set AA compatibility (in combatibility tab) on Oblivion (AA&HDR)?

Yes I did. And it doesn't work even without HDR, so that's not the issue we're having in this thread.

I wonder if this is an 8800-series problem. I have an AGP 7800GS and AA works as expected when forcing it on in the driver. In fact, if I turn on HDR in the game, AA turns off. And when HDR is turned off again (without restarting the client), AA comes back.

On Vista x64 with an 8800GTX and controlling AA via the NV control panel, I'm finding that I have to hit ESC to bring up the settings window and then close it to get AA working. Closing that window appears to be causing the EVE client to reinitialize the renderer, at which point AA settings are being applied. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Automated Influence Map |

Check www.nvidia.com website for driver updates. The 8800 is new and there are bound to be updates already, or soon.

The same is happening for me, AA is not working. No lagg, really good fps, though all edges are ****. GTX8800, latest drivers (DL:d em 2 min ago..), tried with and without HDR and on, low and high, tried using NVidia controlpanel to override, enhance the AA in eve, no success.

Similar. Using a 7600gs here and AA cannot be enabled.
Don't doubt the red text. |

Using either the latest generic WHQL Nvidia 169.02 Forceware or the latest manufacturer ASUS 169.06 Forceware or the latest generic BETA Nvidia 169.09 Forceware does not change anything about the issue.

I was fighting this hard yesterday, what I eventually found was that forced AA work in fullscreen mode, but not windowed.
I use nHancer and both AA and HDR. This is however no rel help to me since I want to run windowed.

Yep, this is true..forced AA via drivers or tweak tools in EvE works only in full screen mode.

Same as the op, everything looks great, and running smooth, but the AA (or lack of) makes the edges look ****. Have 8800GTX, vista 32bit. If anyone finds a working solution, that you have tried or know works, then please tell, and clearly, not like "i've uber graphic card and it works for me !11"

Works for me as well although only in fullscreen mode. Used nHancer to overide and are now able to play with HDR and Bloom as well. Waiting for the window mode fix as i play with dual monitors.

wOOt found a fix !
nHancer FTW ! In your Eve Online profile, go to the compatibility tab on the right side, tick the "Anti-Aliasing compatibility" box and select "Splinter Cell 4" nHancer control panel screenshot
As far as my testing went, the AA method / settings does not matter (eg. whatever you choose it should work). I am running 169.13 unofficial BETA ForceWare and did not roll back to check if the fix works with others drivers.
Hope it works for you guys. O/

yea i had this problem last night. Im running 8800gts with vista. AA would not work for me at first but then i got it to work not sure how. I have AAx4 set to overide any application mode. When it was not working I changed the interval button/tab on the eve settings menu(to see what it does) my frame rate drop right down after i set this to 4 but when i changed it back to Interval default AA started to work just fine.

I have a 8800 GTX on Windows XP 64 with the latest drivers. Although "Splinter Cell 4" does give me AA whereas "Oblivion" does not, my FPS goes down from 60 (with VSync) to 8! So back to no AA but high FPS .
