Well so far Ive been unable to recover my OS.
Not being all that technically minded it looks as if the PC will have to go and be repaired, no doubt at some cost.
Well done.

Do you have the original Windows install disks handy? Are you able to get through some of the steps in the article here?
Yes, but for some reason my PC wouldn't boot from the XP disk. So I delved into the murky world of the BIOS and set to read from CD ROM only.
My computer would then only post this message on start up.
'DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER'
I probably shouldnt have fiddled with the BIOS, but there you go - if you don't try you can't succeed. (Ive finally got back into the BIOS now and sorted that). Perhaps I've got a hardware fault with my CD-ROM drive? Any ideas on how I should have the BIOS set up correctly?

Can you access the cmd prompt without having the OS running?

Sorry, I didnt meant to be a smartass, just a friendly advise..
CCP I feel sorry for you, this is a major screwup... but at least it was not intentional as SoE did with the NGE.
SoEs NGE turned a good game into a sub standard game, CCP have turned my PC from a working computer into an expensive fan. There's a qualitative difference....

Ok, my PC won't read from the CD Drive, but Ive managed to get it into MS DOS.
Is there a way to run a Boot.ini script from my 3.5 drive? If so what do I need to do? My OS is MS XP Home Edition.
Thanks.

Originally by: Vuk Lau Guys its really simple.
Boot with WinXP CD Go to recovery console
Type FIXBOOT
And thats it
My PC won't boot from the CD, even if its enabled as the 1st boot location on BIOS. Been trying to resolve the problem since this morning.
