I'm using a Mobility Radeon 9200 on my laptop with the latest drivers. Just downloaded and installed this Linkage And get the same problem as launching the old client. My graphic card stop working and my desktop become all messy and such. Sorry for not beeing able to contribute with more information but my combuter have to reboot itself right after the launch. Any idea how to solve this? worked great before Trinity.
Hit me for more details.

Still not working, must be something that my graphic card isn't supported for playing EVE anymore? Some hints what might be the problem would be great.

I have a 1950xtx and I'm getting the same problem with the latest drivers. Some response here CCP...this is pathetic. I've completely destablized my OS trying to figure out what exactly is causing it. As in, maybe a setting in Eve or such. I refuse to buy a new video card just to play Eve and it's pretty ****ty of you to not have at least some notice about the cause. I hope I can at least go back to the old graphics update. I've just done a clean install, gonna try just running Eve with just the minimal drivers and programs too see what happens but I'm pretty sure this isn't on my end.

Its not eve its ati's typically crappy drivers send them a ticket or try the omega drivers.
I'm an ati user btw, some drivers do this for me some dont, sometimes a complete reinstall using driver cleaner fixes it.

While I would agree that ATI makes horrible drivers for the most part there is no excuse for the constant CTD. I have no problem with any of the current gen games; I mean ANY as in I like to try them out via piratebay. Take that back, Company of Heros had some weird instability but that was a long while back. Eve barely runs 20secs before either a CTD or a BoD and I have to reboot.
Thank you for the suggestion, I will give Omega drives a try again as I went with the more current ATI update the last time I reloaded my OS but perhaps that will solve my problems *corsses fingers*

New classic client is very bad at my notebook too.. I have radeon 9600 mobility and i think i cant instal driver for desktop cards.. One client running stuck other applications in XP. Second running client will mess display so i can see only clusters of colours, so i cant run 2 clients and even 1 is problematic.. Performance isnt problem, i have 60 fps.. I wish there were still available revelation client engine
My second prob is with unlimited cache for eve.. after few mins i have 1GB used in RAM (in REV2 it was 200MB still ) but its for other topic..

I have a 9600 card and it runs eve classic fine since the patch. If I try to launch a 2nd client I get the messy flashing desktop you describe. The 2nd client always seems to try to start fullscreen even though its set to windowed. Once I get both set to windowed it works fine. It only seems to happen until the character is selected on the 2nd account then it all works fine just like before trinity

I always had minor graphical issues with my graphic card in EVE. But this seemes to be the end. Thanks for the couple of replys and I will keep bumping this thread for a while.

man all the hype about Trinity before it was released really had me excited...I didn't realize that CCP followed MS's philosophy: Release way to early so we dont have to pay QA ppl...The fools who give us thier money can do it instead! But at least MS responds to a frickin bug-report!
CCP WHERE ARE YOU? FIX YOUR CRAPPY PRODUCT THAT WE'RE PAYING FOR!!!

It's really sad when your only options are suck it up or quit. Really **** poor CCP, I promise you fist competitor that comes around with anything half decent and the trolls can have my stuff...
*****ing aside after 10 hours of work or so from the first install and a clean OS later it's working fine. It was definitely graphic card driver related for me as nothing has changed physically or even software wise but I have heard about ATIs bad habit of not updating cleanly...wish I had thought of it before the 20 BSoDs but seriously no other game this year has had a problem. We're talking from Overlord to Hellgate in recent memory. Very ****ty job CCP. Utter ******* lack of any polish.
Worse case scenario guys just reload your OS and go from there...or just quit.

I've had a few blue-screens as well after updating to the Trinity-expansion. I'm running imac 20" with ATI(SHOCK?!) Radeon X1600, playing in Windows(Bootcamp). It's limited what drives versions that are available to shuffle around with.
I'm now playing with the Premium content with Shadows Disabled and Normal Cache size, it has run stable for hours now. Perhaps it'll work for others too.
But in the long run, I hope some small optimizations will be made to the engine to run smooth without throwing BSOD's after me, when I turn on those seeeexy shadows.
Enjoy, and fly safe..

Edited by: Iraiden on 08/12/2007 18:14:34 ROFL, Gosh Dang It! My Radeon 1650 just burnt up... funny how this happens... great way for the OEMs to force people to upgrade... push newer better graphic content through game users...
But my Radeon 1650 on my other computer is fine, cause I didn't upgrade to premium graphics yet...
Guess it's time, again, to spend spend spend, thankfully GForce Cards are down to 100 bucks now w/512... grrr
What version should I go buy though? Any suggestions?

Edited by: Gard Stardust on 10/12/2007 03:03:45 After having some problems with random crashes I also updated my videocard drivers to the newest available catalyst one - the problems unfortunately grew after this...
The game began to freeze after being in game for some seconds.
I didnt know what to do, played along with settings, reinstalled drivers and direct x only to see the situation getting worse.
Then my brother installed radeon "omega" drivers, which I didnt hear of before (I am a noob). Now it seems to work again - these drivers are inofficial though - just google for it, they seem to be quite popular within the gaming commnity. I have a radeon 9600 btw, pretty weak, as my whole machine, but I wont buy a new one only for a game
My driver version is omega 3.8.421 , dunno if its the most recent one...
good luck with trying this out,
Gard Stardust
PS: Didnt test it under pvp conditions yet, though - only missions

Found it i was crashing 24/7 during the undock and docking... Reinstalled everything and still no good but as per the other post in here, I changed video driver to omega so my new driver version is omega 3.8.421
My video card X1950 pro I think any video problems are with video card driver All looking well so far.

As soon as I fire and any kind of load comes on the card I crash (full reset)
I am thinking of doing a full reinstall of the OS

If you are running premium content, try disabling as many options as you can, such as hdr, bloom, shadows, etc. You can do this at the login screen.
most things described here sound like driver issues, and there is basically nothing CCP can do about that. EVE calls standardized DirectX calls for graphics, and while they maybe calling different combos of calls than other games, the calls should be supported. A fresh wipe of the OS and reinstall will prolly go along way for some here, who might have upgraded vid drivers dozens of times, and get some wierd old files sticking around.
If you are using a laptop, please try to get the omegadrivers to work...laptop suppliers drivers are the worst, way out of date. When i had my ati laptop, omegadrivers were the ONLY way to play eve.

Edited by: Snaith on 11/12/2007 03:44:05 I have a 2.8 athlon with 9600gt ati, 1 gig ram, first updated patch messed up the whole operating system which fell apart more each attempted bootup. So full clean istallation of xp, updates, frame network, all drivers and eve classic. The game hangs at initializing and cpu shows at 100% usage , then the graphics try to open in windowed mode for some reason, can't even get to eve login. At that point the computer locks up fully. C+A+D does nothing. cant access game settings , nothing can be done except 4 second on/off shutdown. There is no other software running to interfere with things.
(anyone tried a slighty older ati driver?)
