Same here. I don't get the sound affect for engines (though I do get warp sound).
The sound also cuts out after the first two seconds of each mining laser cycle.

It seems to me that more than just engine sounds seem to be missing from time to time. A noticed my missiles and the sound they produce go out of sync every so often. Sometimes I even get invisible missiles too! And everytime I warp to deadspace the background music stops playing. I think I'm gonna still with the old client.

Hope you all have the luck that i did

I'll add my voice to the list of the ignored, what the hell.
Intermittent sound drop outs. The bad ones are the targeting sounds (as in "you're being locked!") when you've got a market or chat window up.

No intermittant ones like the above thank goodness, but the engine noise is definitely missing. I do appea to have some ambient noise in stations, though - just nowhere near as much as I did pre-Trinity.
Personally, I can live without them. I would seriously want to kiss the dev who could kill of the "howling wind" noise in asteroid belts, though.

As has the funky green engine trails (maybe this was an intentional nerf to my Rapier )

Me too I've not got long left on my trial and from the little bit I've seen so far I think I could like this game...but it's unplayable at the moment. I might leave this for like a month or something, then come back when they've figured out what is wrong with the new patch.

I've opened a new topic about my sound problem but perhaps it would be smarter if I posted it in this thread instead, to keep all the sound problems together. Here is the message I posted:
Hello all!
First of all I'd like to say I enjoy playing this game very much! I've just recently started so I have still a whole lot to learn, I don't think I'll be getting bored for quite some time :)
There is one thing that annoys me a bit though, and that is a problem I'm experiencing with the sound. I have a 5.1 speaker set connected to my pc. The problem: When I tell my ship to warp, as soon as it starts to align for warp a horrible noise comes out of the two rear speakers. The noise stops as soon as alignment is done and the ship enters warp. About the noise, actually it's the warp soundeffect but only it's volume is very loud, completely out of proportion with the master volume.
In practice it means that every time I want to warp somewhere, I have to turn down the volume of my speakers until the ship has entered warp so I don't wake up the neighbours.
I hope someone can help! Thanks in advance :)
I have a Trust SC-5250 5.1 soundcard with a Creative 5.1 speakerset. Windows XP SP2, all drivers up-to-date. I'm running EVE Trinity. Onboard soundcard is disabled.

I've the same problem. I suggest we all submit proper bug reports about this with a copy of our dxdiag. It's the only real way we can expect this to be fixed.
Like the others, I have normal ship sounds when warping, but normal cruising sounds are gone. My turrets do give me sound if I'm zoomed in close enough, but engines do not whatever range I'm zoomed.
