As interesting as disabling voice, adding eve.exe as a trusted app, clearing cache etc. etc. is, I suspect the answer is as simple as this:
"How many characters that are locked out are in Jita?"

tried to use a jumpgate to Jita... thats when my problems occured. All my other characters seem fine. Its just the one who jumped to Jita that cant login.

Same here, one char on acct is in nullsec, logs in no problem. Other char is in Jita, stuck at 'entering game'. Also, it's Sunday, so suspect Jita cluster is overloaded. Tried deleting fonts folder, didn't fix. Weird thing is, EVE voice doesn't show up on Audio tab, so don't know what's up with that... But I suspect it's Jita.

Char stuck in Jita as well..
I went thru the gate to Jita, locked up, had to close client. And I cannot get back in the game..

Got the exact same problem and I also logged out in Jita. Made a new char and can play him just fine. But the player in Jita gets hanged up on entering game.

I'm having the same issue trying to undock from a station in Autama.
Stuck on "Entering game as...", even though the music is playing and by pressing escape I can see the options menu, log out, quit and all that.

Same problem, stuck on "Entering game as ........". Am currently in Jita on one of my very rare visits there - if this is the result then trips to Jita will be even rarer  Am waiting a response to petition regarding the problem.

I have been stuck in Jita for about 2 hours. I thought there was a sever crash or my client locked up. I could get into station view before, but now I can't even get the character to load (as others are experiencing). There were 1200 people in there yesterday and it was OK in and out, but today with 800 in system I'm stuck here. Just an observation.

Same problem here. Was jumping into Jita and the the system crashed.
CanŠt come in with my Char since then.

I jumped to Jita and my ship went through, but not my camera, and I was stuck. I logged off and when I try to log in it hangs at the entering game as... -
Ive tried all the fixes, antivirus/eve voice and its still freezing at login |

So I guess this isn't something they will fix tonight then? Damn, this sucks. Looks like my petition isn't registering on the petition page. Is that normal? I made it about a half hour ago. First time I have petitioned on the web site.

It's not just Jita, it's any system that currently shares Jita's node. As my main is in a system other than Jita and will not log in at all, but my alt logs in first time-every time.
Jita should be regularly purged of idlers and griefers, or better still just 'sploded altogether into a giant Jita-shaped hole. Or if they could atleast publish regular updates on which systems shared a node with it, then people could avoid them at peak times.
I was half way through a 9 jump journey and just happened to enter an afflicted system, now my night of Eve'ing is over. Fun fun fun.

I have exactly this problem. My alt can log in fine but my main char is stuck jumping between New Caldari and Jita

As far as I know, the problem comes from your connection + the place you're trying to log in at.
I once was in Jita and couldn't log in at home - stuck at entering game as. I went to my friend's place with different connection and I could easily log in. Later I went back home and again - couldn't log in.
So I'd say the problem comes from server side + your side of the connection. If your connection is weak sometimes or it takes long to log in to places with lots of people and high lag then don't log off in those places, otherwise you might have problems logging in later again.
