I was wondering, does anybody plan to use the new faction quest probes? They have about +15% scan strength to their main signal type, which is good when looking for the pesky base 3 and 4 sites, but they seem a bit too expensive. 1.2 mils + 1200LPs per only 10 probes is far too much, considering that you can easily burn 30 quests in one day (at least i do :-)).
They would be much better if you could discriminate between different situations, but currently you can know if you need them only after waiting an hour scanning fruitlessly with regular quests.
Also, what's the point of faction observator probes? I could not discern any difference between them and the regular ones.
Thoughts?

The show info doesn't show decimals for probe strength, did you know that Ferret probe actually have a strength of 2.5 and not 2 as the info window say?
As you said the exploration probes are a bit too expensive to be useful but for the observator probe (provided it has a strength of 1.15-1.25) seems very interesting. You don't use up nearly as many of those and the extra strength can really be worth it.

Thought something similar. Glad to know there is an improvement. Also, i do agree with you that the observators are a completely different matter than quests, and probably worth their cost. But the quests... *shakes head*...

Did the probes used with the recon probe launcher also get a faction boost? Like a faction snoop probe?

Err... last time I checked the observator was used with the recon launcher. :-) But only the observator has got boost. There is no faction snoop or spook.
