lol, the widescreen option isn't for widescreens really, just select the right resolution and you're done. I agree that it shouldn't be named 'widescreen' since it's really confusing, name it letterbox instead..

I have found a temp fix to the problem, if you hold ctrl and click to target(objects in space), do it very fast over n over and it will reset the jitter. I have not had any luck in being able to recreate the problem but I do think its related to targeting in some way based on this method I use to fix it.. I hope this will work for others, it really saved me from going insane

I'm not set on Premium vs. Classic yet.
Classic: * FAR better FPS * Doesn't mysteriously lag out the whole of my PC with a single client. * Can happily run 2-3 clients :)
Premium: * My Raven and Golem don't look identical (they do on Classic) * It is all very pretty |

Also got this "jitter" problem from time to time. Mostly in missions but when mining I once got it too.
For me mostly this helps: - Click and hold a "big" entity in space. (preferably a big roid or in missions use structures for it or whatever) - Select "Target" in the radial menue that pops up - redo step 1, then click "Untarget" in the radial menu.
This helps me almost every time.
My corpmates also got this problem, we all got Geforce gfx-cards. (Maybe a reason?) ---------------------------------------------------- If you need GTCs, order 30 Days and 90 Days Evetimcodes ->here<- |

The only "jitter" I get with the Premium Graphics, is Asteroids sometimes flux between Big and Small, like the texture mesh can't decide if it's fat or lean (Much like Oprah Winfrey).

Only experienced a little jitter in stations on my laptop. A widescreen using Vista and a GeForce 9750 GTX card. Not much though.
On my stationary, XP, normal screen with a GeForce 8800 GTX I haven't experienced any problems.
Not with classic nor premium.
Oh, and premium is fantastic looking, I really like the Gallente fleet.

Hearing this makes me want to close my accounts and find a new MMO that looks cool, but runs like a "normal"(has little to no problems during game play.) game. Hell I will even go back to playing World of Warcraft. I am waiting for 1 more month. If I still cant play on the new graphics, I am out of here.

I dont care how it all looks, as long as the game mechanics work and the is no lag in huge fleetbattles, I would gladly settle for wireframes. (Played Elite like that for ages)

Well i get strange graphic errors sometimes, and it will NOT work to just reboot EVE, you actually have to reboot your computer. Because there is most likely an error with the graphic driver, and it can only be solved by rebooting your computer. Or in the worst case, you have to reinstall your graphic driver.
And yeah i have an ATI graphic card.
So i have to ask. For those who say you get those graphic errors and can't fix it, are you rebooting your computer at all?
I can say for sure, 90% of all graphic errors is in the graphic driver, because in those 3 years and 10 months i have been playing EVE, it have ALWAYS been the graphic driver that have made those errors for me.
Atm i'm running the Premium version of EVE.

Well, I prioritize eve on my machine but I ll recognize that alot of other poeple wont have it as their no.1 priority.
I ll say this though:
Whenever CCP churns out a new major upgrade like this, or a smaller one for that matter, I always reinstall my machine from an image of my system that I have created with Norton Ghost that has never had any drivers installed basically. I then download fresh drivers off the net for my stuff and then download and install the complete new client.
I have never had any critical issues at all in principle and not close to what a lot of people are reporting here on the forums. It scares me thinking of all that old junk from years back that are festering on a lot of peoples machines and then they whine when they no longer can stack another heap of stuff on top of the old without it toppling over and crashing their machines or making them unreliable.
So, help yourself, back up whatever you have that you want to keep on the harddrive, partition it and shuv it onto there and then do a fresh install from scratch of everything.

Honestly while I love the new graphics and think EVE looks great most times I am playing in classic as well. Weird graphical hiccups, flat out wrestling with my driver to get it to do AA appropriately not to mention Windowed mode and multiple accounts I am going classical 90% of the time at least.
EDIT: I have a good system too. Core2Duo, fast RAM, 8800GTX.
Exact same situation for me. I get a lot of weird effects, like half the graphics being on the bottom of the screen, and half the graphics being on top of the screen, and then merging in the center as they get closer. Also the mining laser effects are screwed, and some other random things. I like the new ship graphics but I switched back to classic due to all the probs I am having with premium. Same PC setup as yours. ==============================

This is the same for me. Combat seems to trigger it. Launching drones sometimes will too.
Part of me wants to call it an LOD problem, since some LOD managers will cause wonkiness when objects are on the threshold of high to low detail. I don't know if there's an object count that the manager is trying to maintain, and launching drones or enemy NPCs alters the threshold level of detail and it makes the system epileptic.

Originally by: Bo Bojangles Edited by: Bo Bojangles on 10/12/2007 08:17:59 I'd like to run the new client, and really thought I could. But my LCD likes to stay at it's native 1600x1200, and it seems that's just too much to ask for out of my 2x 7800GT SLI setup. Messed around a bit with the driver, backed this and that off, but it still feels like it's chuggin' a bit. When near one of our POS's with a bunch of ships floating around, I have serious problems with FPS. So I'm back to Classic until I can find a good tweak guide.
And yeah I do get a bit of jitter in belts from time to time in Premium only though.
My Fleet Issue Stabber looks a heckuva lot better in Classic anyway.
Odd that you have problems with your sli 7800 setup, although I know that SLI can be worse then single card at times, its some kind of either driver bug / bios bug / optimization in the nvidia sli profile for the game. There are some fixes I was just hearing about this morning for that ( bois update, remove drivers then put in one card, reinstall most recent drivers, then turn on sli and put in other card etc )..
Anyway, I run a 7950GT, 1 account runs premium and the other 2 run classic. I often run all 3 at once and it runs fine. I havent seen any jitter, the only bug I have seen is the icons on top of the overview will occasionally go from the small ones to the regular sized ones. -------------------------- Ishikari Industries Researchers of ship BPO's and BPC's |

I had a question.
Has any had this start while not in combat. Assuming it has something to do with the vibration effect from receiving fire.
What jitters.
All text. All targeting boxes and there bisecting lines. The NPC ship icons flash in and out while the NPC ship stays constant. Large collidables do not flash but other space structures(Leaking Containers is one i noticed) flashed in and out, the entire structures. No jitter in the overview at all or any static windows. Only items in space. Also a player owned ship jitters when unpiloted. Just the box and the tag if on. not the ship itself.
It is not the UI layer or the skinned object layer but only the Icon and huh targeting and selecting box layer that jitters. I guess that when you click something in game you are actually selecting the target box that creates the mouse over box not the ship itself. That is the layer that flashes in and out of existence. Making it difficult to click things as there clickable region is what flashes in and out.
And yes this is all in a Bug Report. ____________________________ One Thead to rule them all - Boot.ini pre-patch thread

QFMFT
I'm seeing a lot of general cry here from people who obviously don't meet the minimum reqs. My machine is more then capable of playing EVE with everything cranked @ 1920x1200 (cept HDR, since I have a 7900GTX, gotta chose between that and AA) and I have to say that this expansion is gorgeous. The fact that it was free is amazing, compare it to EA, who release the same games year after year with minor feature/graphical updates and realize what you're complaining about.
A lot of people, my corpmates included, thought that their 3 year old PCs that were entry level when they bought them would be able to run premium content. Sorry folks, this is pretty much a new game, and requires new hardware. If your PC is older then your xbox, you really shouldn't expect to be able to play premium.
The jitter bug is something else, and I'm sure it will be addressed. The funny thing here is that I see people crying, complaining and moaning, even threatening to quit. Yet, I've not seen one dxdiag file, no detailed system specs, no fraps videos, absolutely nothing to help CCP track down a problem that they obviously are having trouble reproducing.
Shame on you all for being crybabys.
Fake Edit: Don't even start in on the 'we're paying monthly for this, we expect perfection' crap. People drop $300/mo on cars, and they still break down from time to time. You're paying $14.95 for something that, in ways, is much more complicated.

/me skipped the last thread.
I have this Jitter too, ive sent the BugHunter team a FRAPS Video that they can see what i mean... Bad is that i dont know what ive done that this Jitter started. But i read the Thread #82 and i apply to that. Everytime ive seen those Jitter i was in a mission, attacked something or warped through space, every of those things got an effect that EVE is vibrating. And, one thing...
What Jitters?:
The names of the things you clicked, objects like drone bunkers, asteroids... I dont know if the box jitters but could be - and you cant click a thing if the jitter starts.
And my last thing...
