Indeed. The tristan needs a better tank of some sort, or railguns... really long range railguns, with insane damage... or something.
Maybe it needs missile launchers?

I think there is an issue with missile launcher use, which is why no ships have them yet. Once he figures out the launchers im sure the caldari side will open up the same release. Tristan would benifit greatly having a launcher and losing a gunl.

Intentional - the first three missions involving attacking enemy forces head-on. I'm perfectly capable of spawning enemies from anywhere on the campaign, I just haven't done so yet.

Lets see, it shows a blank briefing screen, and then it shows the ship selection screen, with the text overlapping the ship picture thingies.

here you go tarminic one spoofed up and polished up sky loop, because eve has a sky sphere the background does indeed reflect the cameramovment and slightly mimics 3d movment itself which makes getting the clouds and pictures to line up exactly impossible so i had to brush up 10 full screen high res snapshots that originally took 120mbs on my editor to sort out line up and paint mix so that the annoying little lines are gone. The loop ive tested it myself is accurate down to the pixel so you can littlerlly take the top and bottom and shove them together and not notice a difference unlike the rest of the seams which are noticeable if you look close enough and see the paint marks. Dont worry I derezed it a bit and saved as a jpg so its 400kbs now. If there was supposed to be a specific size Then I dont know what to say about this file Im sure its strechable without concequnces but squashing may not be an option. dunno... just if it doesnt fit tell me and ill see what i can do.
Anyways photoshopping complete unless you want a side order of stars. and heck no to planets showing up on it, they have to be on a seperate looping because the sky moves behind planets when you pan around to take the 360 pictures.

I doubt anyone will notice as is but can you imangine seeing this close in the game you might be able to see it or it would stick out rather oddly being that big of a white dot.

i dunno, i guess i just suck. Although, it does seem that i have at least equal, or more shield hp as armor in the ishkur. And the drones do not so great damage. Otherwise, its still really cool :0 Devs, give Amarr some love... |

Dont worry some tone downs are comming.
Tarminic been great developing the game and we as play testers are giving an accurate feedback of difficulty escalation. Lvl 2 is indeed wee bit too hard but hopefully the tone down will keep it challenging.
Ships are still imblanaced and hes still hammering the last of the bugs outs i belive.
but most of the critical bugs he had early versions of the game are now gone, but im sure more will pop up when he gets missiles and other ewars in.

Also I dont know how it happened but my ship is in the picture :( forgot to edit myself out, its easily mistaken for a star though.
No problem at all, it looks great! If I need to scale it up, I should be able to just resize it and apply a Gausian (sp?) Blur to smooth things over, that's what I did with the original image and it worked fine.

Yeah, Mission 2 is too tough, that much I do know. But there is something that can help you out, you just have to figure out what it is. Hint: You can find it in the last two pages of this thread.

Frigate shields actually regenerate a bit too quickly, that's probably why it seems like it. Also, most ships are considered untanked, and I believe that the Ishkur's shields and armor only have a 40-50 point difference (according to the item database). I don't think drone damage needs a buff, because the Ishkur shouldn't be able to quickly dispatch enemies using ONLY it's drones. It packs quite a punch if you're good with it's blasters.

Yeah, I think I'm going to have a full tutorial in the next version, something simple like one per race.
Work is continuing, but there are two things I've already added for the next version to boost the Tristan and the Maulus: -The Tristan is now properly tanked, unlike the other frigates. It now has twice the HP as it did previously and will repair twice as much as the Ishkur or Maulus -Certain Caldari Ships such as the Griffin or the Blackbird now cary multi-spectral ECM jammers that work exactly like Jamming systems work in EVE. -Sensor Strength has been added to the game, which determines how vulnerable your ship is to jamming. The Maulus has twice the sensor strength of the other frigates (equal to that of a cruiser). -The Maulus can now, due to it's superior electronics and communication systems, designate targets for a Sniping Megathron outside the theater of battle. It's ammunition is limited, however, so call your targets wisely.

More update stuff! I won't be adding another playable race for awhile, at least not until the Gallente Campaign is finished (at least 3 more missions after the third). BUT! As a result you'll get to try out shiny new ships in Goonswarm mode. I've already added two more variants; a Rifter fitted with Autocannons and one fitted with artillery (the design of the Autocannons and Artillery reflect input from Mothermoon and Nova Fox, respectively. Thanks guys! ).
I've just implemented diagonal movement (I know this one's been a long time coming). As a result I may be changing acceleration rates as a side effect of this makes ships behave as if they're sliding across ice.
However, I need more input, specifically regarding the Minmatar: -I've divided the Gallente into three primary setups: Blasters, Drones, and Sensor Damperners. How should I divide the Minmatar? I had initially envisioned them as having ships for Speed, Damage output, and Tanking, but as I examine them this category becomes increasingly difficult to apply (especially with their Frigates). Lotsa stuff (I make alotta video games on the drawing board :P but I guess all those years of thinking up stuff is paying off with a simple game with possible room for those mechanics)
Speed and Autocannons with higher shield repair rate but normal amounts hp ship. Auto cannons with high rof could have a little spread (deviation between shots not the shots spreading themselves) to help out with hitting targets while moving fast, ship has to move fast enough to definetly dodge missile fire with ease, screwing up gets you killed
Heavy Tank, missiles and gun (thinking short range as well for it) ship this will still move slightly faster than the average frigate but not as fast as the speed deamon above this will basically be the minmatar version of a merlin.
Artillery + target painter version a : ewar while turned on the ship makes a red line to the mouse pointer and any shots from the player follows down the line regardless of the painter moves or not this will allow for some greater accuratcy shots provided you can aim well.
Target Painter version B makes all the hit boxes of ships bigger while active.
Target painter A could also be turned into a powerup
Autocannon and Arty shots should be yellow or orange
still suggesting the railgun shots form players and npcs to be changed to light blue.
Lasers idea
Constant beam for the short range pulse lasers (white)
Charge and release beams for beam lasers charge laser for max damage! (purple)
both are cap hungy when over used.
Fire suggestion as the yellow to red dots fade out have them leave a smokey brown/grey dot for smoke which lingers a bit longer than the current particle for the campaign mode.
New Powerup suggestion Repair drone when you pick this powerup up it will make a drone that attacks you with weak repairs to both armor and shields, its shootdownable by enemy fire making missile and arty fire very dangerous.
Are we getting new npc ships in GS mode too and can we at least get enemy tristans in GS mode soon since its the easiest ship to impliment will need a recolor though.
Also upload the sprites for the gallente frigates if you can, I wanna touch them up a bit.
Also can I ask how many more sky loops you need? Im sure you can get away with using the current ones 4x over provided you mirror them or flip them over. but eve has alot more colored sky grounds left.
Im looking for the green one I remember in gallente space but where? if you know which region anyone drop a line please.
