because you payed for a month or whatever and all ccp owes you is an active account
this means
if you cant post or play the game in any way
but your account is active then ccp still held up their part of the deal even if you cant check it
now stop whining because this is not usually the case

If the expansion is so horrible and unplayable then why did the peak user record just get broken?
+1 vote for OP to quit.

because the graphic overhaul was significantly better than other expansions according to most people that prefer higher graphics over good gameplay?

This expansion is pure win. Yes it has its issues, but every patch does. Most of the problems people are having with the new graphics are prolly their own computer problems, most likely drivers (everyone i see complaining is on a laptop not running third party drivers)
the new ships are sweet, some balance changes were a might over the top, but it happens, and nothing is set in stone.
The only real issue you can complain about is the boot.ini problem, which couldnt effect everyone.
oh, and btw, the POSes break every patch. Its just how it works. With a patch this HUGE, the game has been quite playable.

Why not just petition CCP and ask in a nice way, one of my fellow gamers has, and got a nice reply and some free time. It wasn't difficult, ccp are not monsters, they are not unreasonable and they did not suddenly decide to screw over everyones computer (unless they were all drunk down the pub)

 LOL Man O Man I love it when all the EVE Junkies come around to smack any one who dares to diss eve.
My advice here is to take a deep breath and go watch TV for a while. I laughed out aloud at some one saying EVE is to much Proto Type EVE is one big experiment live with it.

wow this guy should shut up i am happy with the game experience and ever after missing 5 days after the boot ini problem but i am still happy with it, it hasnt crashed once, lagged once yes all the nerfs were on some point a tad harsh but after all that i still enjoy it,
people like you have either (got a crap computer for it to be lagging out now )

I don't think that the patch was a huge blunder on the part of CCP - actually it went through very well if you consider how huge the patch was and all the changes that were made.
I do however agree that CCP should reimburse the players for lost game time. Either when the server is down outside of the downtime or if a patch is being deployed that requires an extended downtime. That would be fair... and I remember CCP actually giving us free game time when I first started playing EVE.. but then suddenly they stopped this compensation (even though the service didn't become more stable then before.. if anything it got more instable and required more unscheduled downtimes).
This is not a whine and I won't cancel my accounts because of something like this but I still must acknowledge that CCP has stopped giving free game time without giving an explanation.
I of course would welcome a reimbursement policy for lost game time... but I don't really expect to get one.  |

you pay to have the account on their server, and be able to play, you dont pay for XX hours to use it.

It's about the principle! When SOE or Blizzard screw up and their service isn't being provided for a period of time, then their customers get that time compensated. We here in EVE do not get it compensated even if we are paying more then the average MMORPG-Prices. This is simply something that I find unfair!
And EULA or no EULA... CCP used to compensate for lost game time and I'm pretty sure they already had their EULA in place back then and that didn't stop them from compensating us.
I can only conclude that CCP either doesn't care about their customers and hopes that there are enough CCP-fanbois that will continue paying even if the server is down for 3 weeks or CCP doesn't believe that EVE will ever run good enough so that they can compensate for all the lost game time.
There may well be some other reason for it but since CCP never told us, I'm forced to draw some conclusions of my own.
Maybe someone at CCP would care to make a statement as to why the reimbursement of game time was removed some 2,5 years ago and never reintroduced? |
