Why is it that the Amarr heavy interdictor is the only one that looses a weapon slot for no real advantage over the other HICs. Hell the broadsword GAINS a turret and can tank far better.
Whats the deal.

40k actual, 330k+ effective HP isn't all the useful I guess.

not when it requires insane cap use to achive that, and when the broadsword can tank just as well with no cap use at all.
i agree with you

Because passive armour tanks require so much cap.

Passive shield tanked HICs have serious cap issues FYI. Their cap recharge is not that great and disruptor eats a lot.

Wow, and I would have thought we would have hit critical mass with that comment and a chain reaction would do more then natural selection has in the past thousand years.

How in the flying hell do you get 40k actual hitpoints? Without a 2 bil isk full-grade set of slaves, I think thats pretty impossible.and even with slaves that requires you to spend 1500/1581 PG and both rigs slots on 1600MMs/tri-marks... Wow, way to completely talk out of your ass there ******.
What about a more realistic setup.... one where that same ship can fit at least a MWD and the damn warp field gen.
Now assuming that the devoter fits no guns, with the above equipment it can fit 2 1600MM plates and 2 trimarks, with various resistance mods of course.
In this config it has 20k actual and 150k effective hitpoints, with a 0 DPS tank. Lets look at a shield tanker for compairison shall we??
An onyx fitting the same description (cap stability w/o MWD actively running, warp field gen) can fit a full rack of Heavy assualt launcher IIs, has 24k actual, 115k effective HP w/ a tank of 402 DPS.
Well what if you want a a damage over time tank rather than a buffer tank? Well the shield tankers can do that too, with each near or over 1,000 damage per second tanked passively.
Please never speak again. An Ad Hominem is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument. |

lvl5 skills, officer armor implants, officer mods, plates, trimarks and HG slaves, a damnation with warfare links in gang might push it to 50k.
...but that's making your and your ship setup worth the price of a few carriers.
more feasible T2 setup with 2 cap injectors and 2 MARs and 2 aux nano pumps pushes to the 32k effective with arround 902dps tanked.
and this is just with T2 fittings. of course that 2 cap injectors will drain your cargo hold of caps very quickly.
single MAR with single cap injector and2 aux nano pumps is the most viable setup. however it is true that the devoter loses 1 turret to the T1 hull (unless you have HIC skill at 4), while the other 3 do the same damage as their T1 hull out of the box, if we count only their bonussed guns that is (broadsword with 5 turrets + RoF bonus = rupture's 4 turrets with RoF and damage bonuses at cruiser lvl5).
however, the damage bonuses on these ships are pretty secondary, so one shouldn't worry about damage that much. these ships are supposed to recieve very hard punishments while preventing caps and supercaps from warping or jumping away. ---

Obviously there is no passive armor tank. it is active since you have to use a repairer to "Actively" get your armor points back up. contrary to shield passive tanking where your shields regenerates automagically
