Well.
As the title says, Chaos patch 1403-1404 doesn't prompt for your EVE installation folder like it should, so installing it goes over the top of your normal EVE folder.
Anyone know if this will cause any major harm? Or will I have to reinstall from CD and sit there resorting 200+ bookmarks for the next few days?

Try taking a backup of the folder called Settings in the cache-folder.
Don't know if it'll work, but worth a shot

I noticed this too, but i found out that i could connect to the normal server even tho it was a 1404 client version. I never opened my char tho, but i could connect to the char select screen without problems.

Edited by: Commander Stringer on 12/03/2004 12:30:36 This completely fubared my Eve installation and I had to reinstall and restup the game :/
Too get around it temporarily rename your Eve installation Folder to Eve.TQ or some such and it will prompt for the install location. Just remember to rename your eve folder back

1404 is compatible with TQ. It only contains improvements for trial throttling.

OK, I patch my EVEtest to 1404 No it will not open, Still get that you are not using DX9b when I am, crap. No window opens to let me connect to the server. Tryed opening eve.exe in evetest folder it will not start.
So do I need to reinstall it all again,

So, will there be a future update path from 1404 to the next patch on TQ, or will I be doomed to reinstall my TQ copy to update next time?
