Sadly, there are people who would think of it, and there are probably lawyers looking into the viability of it right now. this is why we need a culture shift in America towards a more traditional culture and more conservative laws.*
*please note, by "liberal" I mean American liberalism, as defined by 60's radicalism and Ted Kennedy, and by "conservative" I mean American conservatism, defined by Ronald Reagan and Rush Limbaugh.
P.S. As an American Conservative, I find the Anti-Semitic crap in the second comment to be vile and unnecessary.
Being a "conservative" or a "liberal" only serves to control the masses by polarizing them against each other and making it impossible for the people as a whole to gain a majority. Don't be either. Think for yourself. -- Support fixing the EVE UI | Suggest Jita fixes

The lady that sued mcdonalds also put the cup between her legs in the seat, and spilled it on herself. :P too bad humans stopped going by natural selection long ago would have solved many of the worlds ills.
The biggest problem with amrican law in my opinion, is when in big cases with a lot of cash involved the plaintiff can poll areas, focus groups and such, and set the trial in any area where they have the best odds of winning and winning big.
I think an independent review court should review cases and set them in the most neutral area possible with both sides submitting places to have the trial as well as the court submitting their own if they cant agree on one of the submitted ones.
Now granted one could argue well the big companies that are being sued have ton of resources and the best lawyers money can buy, but still tons of cash spent to stack a jury in your favor for either side is kind of silly, especially in law suits where the jury not only decides guilty or not guilty but also decides the reward to be granted totally at their own discresion.
And add to this fact when a big company loses a law suit they don't end up paying but customers pay more because they are 90% likely to pass any losses down to the consumers, so one or a handful of people win the majority lose.
american law needs reform bad trial lawyers are a plague on society often more out to fatten their pockets rather than to really protect the consumer. Tho some cases are legitimate some are just plain silly.

Dude, you are a racist, and a bigot, shame on you. You should be banned for this crap.
The guy is obviously an a$$hat, but besides implying some thing racist he didn't really say anything. Stereotypes wouldn't exist if they weren't true on some level.
Naww, guy is ****er, I agree. But, what using racial/national stereotypes, especially incorrect ones, and especially ones with such longevity like "All Jews are in together to control the money supply" or "All Lawyers are Jews," or "All Jews are running a country," and implying that they control the society in that way - are called HATE MONGERING in our times.
It all starts small, it starts with an innocuous and seemingly "mistaken" or misinterpreted" statements, when there is a deep-seeded problem with that person's perception of the world in the first place. It grows like cancer, it is passed on to the children, who are TAUGHT to think that way, etc, etc, etc. That is why what he said was inexcusable.
It has nothing to do with being politically correct. Especially if he was talking about the Merchant Of Venice, but, since he was obviously not referring to a literary masterpiece, but was making an assertion about a huge segment of population, and obviously exercising whatever nationalistic or racial prejudices he was raised with, there is no excuse, there is no PC, this is plain HATE MONGERING and needs to be punished.

It is racist, and stupid. I'm in law school and there isn't some vast Jewish conspiracy controlling the US legal system.
Now, for the point about stupid lawsuits, it does stem from liberal ideas of collective property and groups. Conservative legal thinkers tend to hold older ideas in more esteem, such as one of the most basic and fundamental, personal property rights. Liberal views hold this less important and collective property is good. So, what occurs in liberal northern states is events like a robber being able to sue for injuries while on another's property, since in liberal areas the lines between personal and private ownership get blurred. Liberal theorists pursue a collective view of ownership and property rights, thus would tend to say that the homeowner owes a duty to protect any individual on their property regardless of there reason for being there. This may sound a bit absurd, and granted it is, but when the lines of who owns what get blurred this can occur.
In the south, where more traditional views dominate the political and legal structure, you get shot dead if you try and rob another's home. In the south, the idea of personal property wins out of communal property. The individual and their holdings is superior and the good that produces for the whole is the driving force.
Now, the real problem that is that the corps. are taking liberals bad idea and making vast amounts of money on the backs of the poor and middle class. Today, in areas with fewer property rights, large development groups will go in, get a city to condemn an area, thus reclaiming it from the middle class citing some need for economic prosperity, turn the lands over to the rich developers, kick out the workers and then shopping centers get built. The liberal idea of property for the communal good is being used for corp. greed. Thus, the lesson to be learned is personal property rights are very important and a cornerstone of a strong legal system.

No. You are confusing conservatives with Republicans. Despite what that media at large is feverishly trying to convince you, they are not the same thing.
actually conservatism is a republican ideal. this crazy neo-conservative hijack of the white house we have right now is the product of a festering boil a dormant american public allowed to latch on to the republican party several decades ago. they've come a long way, were given the controls of a country responding (like we always do) erratically in a moment of emotional response and have done a ton of damage.
google or youtube ron paul. he's what a republican should be and is meant to be. the kind of republican people like lincoln was. (edit: were? was? wtf does that not look right?)
keep in mind, there's still a good 1/4 of our country that truly believes bush is ordained by God to lead them in a cleansing of evil in the middle east. this does NOT represent the majority by any poll, any more.. and we hope to get rid of this disease soon and be back on our feet ****ing people off the way we always did.
vote ron paul.

If you are going to quote a source to give some kind of credence to your asshat notions of logic please dont use wikipedia. It is uniformly scorned and scoffed at by any discerning intellectual. In saying that, Im probably going to go out on a limb here and say that those calling for a ban of this comment on the basis of racism are just as bad.
Please dont pull the anti-Semite card here. Ive heard plenty of people beating up the Irish in this forum and no one says boo. If you are offended by his comments ignore, defeat or rebutt them, seriously, its not even going to be a challenge tbh- the guy is clearly a moron. Im not saying that he is correct, but I am saying is what he has said is not in particularly anti semitic. Comments like this shouldnt be snuffed out- they should be exposed for their sheer idiocy.

Hey, I'm popular!

It went from 'Oh, your a racist' to... 'oh your just an idiot' I do not disagree.
since you cannot call me a racist, because I said nothing racist you just resort to a generic 'moron' instead.
Looks like a weak mind trying to express itself forcefully.

democrats? hahahahhahhah. oh i fell for that one last year, too. then pelosi, like everyone else that goes behind closed doors with bush, buckled and gave him everything he wanted, and more. and she continues to do so. it was her personal request to block kucinich from bringing cheneys impeachment motion up, something he could do only once with this privelage. it was only by luck of the republicans, oddly enough, that the measure passed.. which was then deferred by the democrats to a judiciary committee so they wouldn't have to deal with it for a while.
the democrats have failed, kucinich is the only one with any sense left. i changed my affiliation to republican a couple weeks ago soley to vote for ron paul in the primaries. watching the dems try to stifle kucinich was the last straw for me.
ron paul is the ONLY candidate that says bring the troops home, rebuild here, cut government and give US our federal taxes and start working on foreign TRADE instead of foreign RAIDS.

Hold on now... I cannot even get out of my house before I see ads to sue one another. The TV, the phone book, the newspaper... Is that 'normal' to prey on people? What is apparently normal is that the lawyers have a free pass to insight people to sue one another for every little mishap.
Who dares dispute this?
CCP screws up their installer, and LITERALLY 10 minutes after posting there was a problem the sue threads appear on the forums.

I have not researched it extensively. I go to a local coffee shop and I saw Ron Paul literature on the counter and I read that, but TBH that is as far as I have gone.
I do not believe in this era of American imperialism we live in. TBH, we have more pressing domestic issues than torturing people and abducting citizens of other countries to practice waterboarding technique just so some lawyer can get grilled by a committee and lie his way out of it.
What is the common thread? Another lawyer. Can you sue that guy? go ask the lawyer... Can you torture that guy? go ask the lawyer...
Pfft.
