Hi Zealot pilots!
Can you tell me your reasons to choose a Zealot instead of a Sacrilege? I need some help with a decision :)
I know, Zealot isn't really the _best_ HAC. But I like lasers! EFT said me: a Sacrilege has a much better tank, similar damage (with drones), drones :) and is only a bit slower. I see just one advantage on the Zealot side: with Scorch I can shoot up to 40km without reloading or changing "ammo".
Are there some arguments for a Zealot?
Thanks!

Faster, more range, don't have missile skills, plus I'll fly it now and then anyway for the variety when I do have missile skills.
Oh and more lows so you go with two or three damage mods and pretty much all the speed modules you'll want.
And if you do tank them both fully they have a similar tank, although the Sac's better cap, capless weapons and resist bonus do win out over two less lows imo.

Zealot is a great anti-support boat and can make short work of frigs and most nanoHACs due to the excellent tracking and range of Heavy Pulse with Scorch.
Sacrilege on the other hand is unable to do much (if any) damage to the faster ships (particually Vagabonds) due to HAM low explosion velocity. Paired up with a Huginn however they're amazing. ---

a long time ago in eve amarr t2 ships actually used lasers , so most of the people that can fly these t2 ships have lots of skillpoints in gunnery , now ccp wanted to **** off almost all of the amarr pilots and change half the ships into missile boats when most amarr pilots have no skillpoints in missiles , i fly the zealot because i can use the t2 lasers and prefer the instant damage and the several mill in gunnery i have compared to my 1 mill in missiles, and the zealot looks way better

Khanid Mark II was a widely requested and much liked change. If you don't like it because *gasp* you have to train another weapon system to use a previously awful and now much improved line of ships then fine, but please don't speak for "almost all of the amarr pilots" when you're voicing your minority opinion.
btw before you ask please read above, I'm saying this as an Amarr pilot with no missile skills.

Sacri can permarun MWD + Scram + Web, and it can pulse a neut in the utility high to exploit the Vaga's biggest weakness: low cap. Sacri won't do much damage to a nano ship if you just blindly go in shooting, but if you properly use it it's extremely deadly against other nano ships.

If you're inside neut range you're inside overheated web range, at which point the vaga dies a horrible death.

I'm a Amarr who trained for and learned to fly Caldari because of lasers being sub-par when shooting angels. That was when I lived in angel space a year ago. Then I went back to Amarr ships and trained up all skills to 5 (for bs, hac pulse, beam) and specs to 4.
While fun it was more for I wanted to be ready for a CCP boost of amarr (what can I say I'm a optimist). Then with the redesign of the Sacrilege I got happy in my pants and went over to it instead. With my already trained missile skills the transition was easy. I haven't looked back at the Zealot since then.
So would I ever take a Zealot over a Sacrilege? 9 times out of 10 probably not... not until CCP fixes the EM inbalance and the dps of the Zealot. As for the rest of the Amarr a few ships are nice but most suffer from all the problems that been mentioned on these pages a billion times already....
Why should anyone else choose a Zealot... 'cuz you wan't to snipe? Because you accidently choose Amarr as your starting race when new to EVE and therefor have zero missile skills? 'cuz you are diehard amarr ship fan that flies them daily even if people constantly kick your teeth in?
You tell me why....

Well, the Zealot might currently be a bit underpowered ( 5. turret or at least 5 small drones would be nice ) but it still has some strenghts which are...
- Good range, ( makes it a great anti-support sniper with beams) - high speed, even without overdrives and nanos - good tracking
If thats enough for you then fly the Zealot, if it isnt the fly the Sacri

the ships could of been improved another way - didn't have to completely change the weapon systems ...
ok yes , i was an amarr pilot specialized in lasers *gasp* i must of been foolish to do this. When the khanid 2 changes came into play almost all of my t2 ships were completely useless for over a month, coulda atleast gave more warning about the changes
Jesus Hieronymus Christ. . .
Point <---------------------------------------> You
And by that I mean you completely and utterly missed the point of my post, in case the above is went over your head too.
Any Amarr pilot will be specced in lasers of course, and a lot probably didn't have missile skills before Khanid II went live. No where did I even come close to saying the opposite. Please, and I'm completely serious here, point out where you think that I did.
I'm sure a lot of Caldari pilots don't have hybrid skills and the Rohk is T1 BS. I'm sure a lot of pure Minmatar specced characters don't have great missile or drone skills and the 'phoon is a T1 BS. I could go on but none of this really relates to my original point. You know, the one that you completely missed with your reply, which is (deep breath):
That you presumed to speak for all Amarr specced pilots in damning the Khanid II line when in fact it was originally an idea put forward by the community and a much welcomed change by most Amarr. Are you actually going to deny this point? Like I said if you don't like it then fine, but don't erroneously speak for others.
Quote: coulda atleast gave more warning about the changes
Ok that bit just made me laugh and made you look even more stpuid. I don't think I need to expand on that except to say: There. Was. Plenty. Of. Warning.
Quote: When the khanid 2 changes came into play almost all of my t2 ships were completely useless for over a month
What? Just what? For Gods sake CCP retained the turret slots on all Khanid II ships to cater for people like you, and for every single missile using Khanid II ship (ie discounting the Curse and Anathema as they generally don't use them) there is a laser using ship of the same class:
Sac - Zealot Vengeance - Retribution Malediction - Crusader Damnation - Absolution
I fail just what on earth you're on about there? Please elaborate, please, I'm genuinely intrigued as to where that particular gem of logical ineptitude originated.

To put it very simple:
Zealot for bigger fleet stuff and anti frig support and gate camps.
Sacri for fast roaming (zealot actually works here too), for solo and low sec (this is where sacri outperforms by a large margin.) ---------------------------------------------

Always take EFT/QuickFit with a grain of salt. The values aren't going to match up, the numbers only give an indication of a ship's potential, especially regarding DPS. Drones have travel time (not included in EFT's calculations) tracking issues are not calculated (2000 dps is nice, but if you only have 0.001 tracking you're not going to do even 1 dps on anything).
