1. Looks 2. I don't have T2 hams or maxed out Missile support skills (Okay, I have trajectory analysis III and surgical strike IV, but everything else is at V, and my missile supports are around III-IV 3. Hope that the Zealot will eventually get boosted 4. Looks 5. Zealot has no ammo use and better range (unless you use javelins) 6. Zealot looks awesome 7. I hate, hate, hate, hate the Maller hull. 8. Did I mention looks? 9. I like needing maxed skills, triple faction heatsinks, implants, and Heavy Pulse II with Conflag just to break 480 dps, on a "gank" hac. 10. The omen sucks too hard to fly so it's basically an omen that you can actually fit stuff to.
...
I'm training my missile skills now, though =( the Sac is that good.
I wish Large Cap Batteries didn't take AN ARM AND A LEG TO FIT >:( __________________________________

Sac uses missiles, Zealot uses lasers.
These weapon systems work differently, and therefore arbitary number comparisons become meaningless very fast.
I daresay the major reason though, is that many focussed amarrian pilots use lasers, and therefore have T2 laser skills, where considerably fewer have trained up T2 HAMs. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? GMP and TNP |

465 dps is not awesome, not even by t1 standards *signature removed - please email us to find out why (include a link) - Jacques([email protected]) EVE is like the "Fisherman's Friend" of MMOs. If it's too hard, you are too weak. |

Can you tell me your reasons to choose a Zealot instead of a Sacrilege? I need some help with a decision :)
I know, Zealot isn't really the _best_ HAC. But I like lasers! EFT said me: a Sacrilege has a much better tank, similar damage (with drones), drones :) and is only a bit slower. I see just one advantage on the Zealot side: with Scorch I can shoot up to 40km without reloading or changing "ammo".
Are there some arguments for a Zealot?
Thanks!
I dont like, or have, missile skills.
It looks better IMO.
Lasers are pretty.
Works for me.

My main is a sacrilege/zealot pilot....
The sacrilege destroys everything in its path of blinding hate and is practically immune to damage while the zealot looks really cool
I use the sacrilege in smaller gangs where it actually matters what ship each member is flying.
I use the zealot in larger groups where "looking good" is more important because their isn't even going to be a real "fight" taking place.
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF LOOKING GOOD!!!
If I'm on a kill mail with my zealot the hotness just oozes off the page.
If I'm on a kill mail with a sacrilege it's too bland, plus, everyone knows you were suppoused to kick their ass anyways.

Look at the ships and thing about what they do add to a gang: Zealot: High DPS (Guns track well and usually are in optimal range. Almost no misses. Don't even dare to compare them to somehing like an autocannon) Good range: means you start dealing damage while your deimos brother is zipping from target to target just to see it explode before he's there
Sacrilege: Survivability: You hate to die? This is your ship. This tank wont break easily. Can't be used as bait since it is so obvious noone falls for it. Dmg is crap. Range is too.
So why again is the sac the better ship? It's the better ship for the pilot because he is less likely gonna die but if you ask me if i want a sac or a zealot in my gang i sure as hell know i wont want a sacrilege.

Zealot is much more fun to fly, sac is dumb and missiles suck for pvp.

Khanid Mark II was a widely requested and much liked change. If you don't like it because *gasp* you have to train another weapon system to use a previously awful and now much improved line of ships then fine, but please don't speak for "almost all of the amarr pilots" when you're voicing your minority opinion.
I'm with the first guy, I hate the Khanid MK II changes, missiles aren't even the secondary weapon system of Amarr...

what damage is everyone comparing their ships to? when people say the damage sucks i really wonder what the benchmark is.
the sacrilege can have some good damage with crappy range, you can nano the ship get about 3.5-4k/sec do about 450-500 dps to ANY dmg type. so to me that isn't too bad damage, let alone being cap neutral. but of course you need max skills on just about everything to have this kind of results.
or you can tank it to bajeezus and do i think like 300 dps, now that to me does suck, but if you can tank just about anything, i would say that is a heavy tackler that is not going to let go.
now i'm a caldari pilot that switched to amarr just for this ship, and i have not regretted it. now the arguement that the change killed amarr i'm not going to get into since it's not my fight
but whoever says missiles suck for pvp just doesn't know how to use them, so quit trolling.
this is a VERY fun ship to fly and does survive alot depending on your flying style and what your up against. can definately take on multiple targets at once and come out unscathed. just have to know how to fly the thing.
this game is all about preferences, it's not one ship is better than another or this ship needs to be nerfed. it's all about what you like, how you fly it, and how you deal with those other ships. deal with it

In many ways, its like a Vagabond.
Not as fast, but a swift ship (~4km/s) that can be used in 0.0 to evade baddies, while bringing a fair amount of DPS to the table. It also, if using beams, has the potential to do a sweep of ranges up to 80km or so with good skills, making that pesky inty hovering at range slowly very much dead.
Say no to knee-jerk additions and nerfs, mmkay? |
