Anyways if anything happens they are just gonna whine to the Danish gouverment and they will pay like they usually do.
It's like social service.
Hehe, you've got the wrong place mooching on us there. Iceland pos spammed us and gained Sovereignty in 1918 and (following having the better occupying force during ww2) became a republic in 1948.
The ones that cash welfare checks to build tunnels to villages with 20 inhabitants would be the Faroe Islands.

London rarely has earthquakes.
It is however prone to floods. Especially considering Mr. Al Gore tells us that in 7 years the north pole icecap will be gone and everyone on islands will drown :)
CCP, you have 7 years to move the servers or we will DIE!
Al gore has been saying that it will flood within 7 years for the last 20. so we are 13 years into what he was talking about. :D Search: Sky Grunthor |

Originally by: CCP Eris Discordia I think there would be a fair warning for a major eruption and a lot of CCP is now made up out of foreigners so we can all fly back to our own country and maybe even demand our country to pick us up.
And then we ( Ok maybe just me) point and laugh at the Icelanders
Snorkling between the plates was awesome but the pictures are horrible and dry suits are not sexy.

The only sensible choice for a geologically secure location for the server is Australia. Sydney, preferably, although I'm willing to accept a more remote location that has hundreds of kilometres of desert surrounding it for that secret hideaway look.
Not quite desert, of course. There'll be enough food to feed the ravening hordes of poisonous spiders, snakes, lizards and monotremes. That's so you know you're in Australia.
Then the rest of the world can have the high pings! \o/

Originally by: Anaalys Fluuterby During the last true Ice Age the level of the oceans were some 600 ft. above today's levels.....
I doubt the fact that the servers are flooded is going to make much impression compared to the rest of our problems if that happens....
Where in the world did you hear this? Because it's very wrong. You cannot have the bering land bridge in that case. That means a large portion of American biology would be impossible. I hate to use wiki here, but this article is quite good http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bering_land_bridge
regarding the 'ice in a cup thing': A lot(most) of the ice on the planet is not floating in water. It's on Greenland, Antarctica, tied up in glaciers and permafrost regions. Redo your little experiment with a rock in the glass that comes out of the water, with a bunch of ice cubes on it. ====

Al is grossly misinformed. Only about 10% of the ice in the Ice Caps are exposed, therefore very little water will return to the ocean and raise the levels. What we have to worry about is the land ice caps, but sea ice caps are no problem.

Originally by: Benilopax I was told by an engineer once about the building the EVE server is located. It is like an electronic fort Knox the whole of London could be destroyed by an atom bomb and the building would still be standing and all the electronics safe. Probably because 3 of the worlds major banks feed through the same building.
Hmmm so now i know where this is Project Chaos can start as in 'FightClub'
so to free the masses from the economic might of the banks we must sacrifice the EVE servers

Originally by: CCP Atropos I went snorkeling at Thingvellir with a few other CCPers and you basically snorkel between the two tectonic plates. It was pretty awesome. However, even though Iceland has both volcanoes and the potential for earthquakes, I think the chances of CCP being pulled into a rift is pretty minimal.
Im sad to inform you that you have been a victim of a tourist myth. You did not snorkel between two tectonic plates. They dont come together at thingvellir. ----- Ignorance is my strength. |

The list of things that could threaten eve is a long one. Check out http://www.exitmundi.nl/exitmundi.htm
Of course if any of these occur in the near future, the lack of eve will be low on your list of priorities or you'll be part of the extinction.

The melting of the North Pole has no effect on the sea water level , since there is no landmass below the North Pole. Or in other words the ice is allready in the water, your softdrink doesnt overflow either when the icecubes melt heh? - - -

there may not be any land under the north pole, but there does appear to be a big chunk of land under greenland, and the ice there is melting fast!

Global Warming is a natural process, just as global cooling is, the earth is still getting back to what it was before what ever caused the last ice age. Look at all the fossiles found from prehistoric times, how many were creatures built for extremely cold temps? Also another sign that the earth has been warming for a long time is things like ice burgs that have been around forever....just ask the people from the Titanic. But if you ask the peace pipe smokers like Ben & Jerry.....cow burps will be the destruction of us all!!

<3 John De Lancie.
I propose we move the earth by making half the population jump at exactly the same time. Much more practical solution.
As for moving the servers to Denmark, it won't do. Drunk swedes will come and puke on them.
