You know, no matter what side you're on, even if you're on the right side - I've learned that you might just have to learn to bite your toungue and live with at least a bit of built-up tolerance to the crazies.
Here's a funny but very perceptive article that sort of relates to this thread(Along with the mess it created)
Seriously, give it a read, it's funny.
edit: Can we fix this shitty forum filter already?? I mean, c'mon! We can't even converse properly!
While I don't agree with the writer's stand point on a few things, rather then nit pick, I will agree on the overall point he was trying to make...
And while I don't agree with Tarminic's beliefs, I do find much of his postings entertaining, and I find s1's rants completely unfounded/unnecessary...
By far the most entertaining topic off this thread was "cubism" lol... anywho, great read for a boring day at work ;p _ . - Justice, Mercy, and Faith My soul has horizons further away than those of early mornings, deeper darkness than the night |

By the way, whether you're a creationist or not, you kind of have to conceed that Darwin was correct and that evolution does occur. Bacterial resistence? Breeding plants and animals for our own purposes? etc.
And tell me this(if you're a biblical literalist) which one of Noah's children was Black? Which one was Asian? Which was white? Middle-eastern?
Whether you're a logical "evolutionist" or a biblical literalist, you have to acknowledge the fact that living things change from generation to generation.

No!! its just pseudo science and will remain so until tangible evidence are discovered. He is basing his hypothesis, NB. its a hypothesis NOT a theory like he is portraying it, on a quantum mechanism called Pairing. Until that mechanism is recognised fully, it is just speculations.
Circumstantial evidence do not necessary support a single hypothesis but can support many. The circumstantial evidence he is portraying support many hypothesis, it just happens that the scientific community supports a certain hypothesis called continental drift since the circumstantial evidence was stronger for that one than "expanding Earth hypothesis" proposed and supported for a long time by S.W Carey. Until quantum science is fully understood, we will have to do with contemporary theories.

Creationist Counterpoint: Species themselves adapt genetically, but they cannot create another species altogether!
Quote: And tell me this(if you're a biblical literalist) which one of Noah's children was Black? Which one was Asian? Which was white? Middle-eastern?
Creationist Counterpoint: Noah's children, by god's will, each had the genetic material of all races in them. After the flood god made it so each child would express a different racial characteristic more greatly over generations.
Quote: Whether you're a logical "evolutionist" or a biblical literalist, you have to acknowledge the fact that living things change from generation to generation.
Creationist Counterpoint: -Adaptation != Evolution -Genetic material can be changed but not added, thus things can not "evolve" to become better, just different
Quote: And in regards to the statement "evolution can't create functional design", people today use simulated evolutionary algorithms to design structures - successfully!
Creationist Counterpoint: Man is using it, so it can't be actual evolution
Of course I don't believe any of this, but I've had this debate several times before so I'm just saving the creationists a few posts. Of course anything there could be easily refuted, but let's not let facts stand in the way of anything!

Good find man, the vid made my day.
I remember back in middle school, ffs, we were trying to calculate what would happen if Earth was to suddenly stop. Everything on the surface (including upper crust) would be flying off the tangent at high velocities (enough to launch objects into orbit). Yeah, no **** Sherlock, money would be the last thing I would worry about at that point. Unless somebody is willing to sell me a parachute. Or a spacesuit... Or a kessie with exotic dancers and lifetime supply of food.

Oh, they can be wiped out easily enough. Check this:
Originally by: Tarminic Species themselves adapt genetically, but they cannot create another species altogether!
After a hundred thousand adaptations over a million years a species no longer resembles any of it's ancient ancestors - based on genetic similarity, which scientists currently use to determine the relationship of various species, it's now a different creature altogether. To disregard this is to simply throw out the entire definition of what a species is...and what would they replace it with?
Quote: Noah's children, by god's will, each had the genetic material of all races in them. After the flood god made it so each child would express a different racial characteristic more greatly over generations.
The genetic material for all the various creeds of humanity cannot be contained in a single human genome. And if God created the world in seven days, why would he suddenly switch to using methods inside the realm of physical science to accomplish his goals?
Quote: -Adaptation != Evolution
Er, no actually. Adaption does equal evolution, they're the same thing.
Quote: -Genetic material can be changed but not added, thus things can not "evolve" to become better, just different
Incorrect, genetic mutations involve material that can be removed, changed, replicated, and recombined. Look up cell mitosis.
Quote: Man is using it, so it can't be actual evolution
The technique is still identical, it doesn't matter if man is "using" it.
As you can tell, I've had some experience with these things. ---------------- Tarminic - 29 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.76.2 |
