As today is my last day at CCP, I will no longer be working on the EVE API. However, we have designated one of the other members of the EVE Software Group, CCP 2Kay, to take on the task of maintenance and fixes and other things as the need arises.
For those of you who went to FanFest and participated in the third-party tools roundtable, you have met him. He's an excellent guy and I feel that I am leaving you all in capable hands.
From now on, we will need to follow the traditional procedure for reporting bugs and issues with the API. The bug reporting page is there to be used: go for it! Be sure to include all of the relevant information so that our QA team and volunteer Bug Hunters can effectively prioritize issues.
Thank you for your support over the past year. The API has been my favorite part of working at CCP, and I hope that it continues to serve the community for many years to come.

What about API feature requests? Is there still a chance of new features being added to the Eve API, or will future maintenance be limited to bug fixes only?

What would be really nice is being able to export killmails via the API. You could have two API pages:
1. List of all kills with "killID" and "dateTime" or similar 2. Page where "killID" is passed into and appropriate killmail is displayed
Would save a hell of a lot of hassle than having to keep pasting killmails to killboards. ---------- "Whining gets you stuff, that is why humans got to the top of the food chain and all the other animals got nerfed." |

Like others have mentioned, I would love to see an export button on the market price history table.
I just want to know what is a reasonable price for a given commodity. I can find that by looking at the market data price history graph, or by looking at the last entry of the market data price history table. But it is presently not exportable or available via the API.
Yes we can export bid and ask information, but this is dubiously useful as everyone knows there are ridiculous bids and asks in there intended to catch people off guard, and the weighting and skewing of volumes screws up any kind of reasonable average or median calculation.

Works for corp, too.
I have a request: when the API goes down output an xml error document instead of nothing.

I've noticed the XML tags: <currentTime> and <currentTQTime> are containing values equal to my local system clock, and not to the time inside the Eve universe.
The difference is only a couple of minutes, but I'm wondering why this is:
example: I get a return of <currentTime>2008-02-20 09:17:17</currentTime> and <currentTQTime offset="1">2008-02-20 09:17:18</currentTQTime>. I got this result while the in-game clock still read "09:15". My own PC's internal clock was 09:17:17.
What's going on here - I don't see how an HTTP GET call to a remote server can give me back my own system time (unless the HTTP request is timestamped and you're just giving me that value back) - or the alternative is that the Eve server clock is identical to my own (both electronically synched to GMT) and it's the in-game clock that's lagging behind?
Any ideas out there? What really *is* the correct time inside Eve?
Max :)

There's just one thing im really missing. In the assetlist you're unable to determine if a blueprint is a BPO or a BPC. There's a significant difference, in not only production limits, but also in value. I really hope this is something that will be fixed. Unless there's another way to find out if it's a BPO or BPC? I already know im not going to update my blueprint list by hand

has any one else noticed that the API is not feeding kill mails any more?
Also is there any kind of time line when it is going to properly feed loss mails?

Edited by: DeTox MinRohim on 29/03/2008 14:12:07 Skills from the API seems buggy atm. Various Apps don't seem to get the info or a malformed info.
EFT and skillsheet for example.
EDIT: Confirmed... The returned XML is the bugged xml having this:
<row typeID="3455" skillpoints="8000" unpublished="1" />
Instead of the usual
<row typeID="3411" skillpoints="750" level="1" />

There is an issue on the SkillTree too. The API returns and empty skilltree:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?> <eveapi version="2"> <currentTime>2008-03-30 11:35:17</currentTime> <result> <rowset name="skillGroups" key="groupID" columns="groupName,groupID" /> </result> <cachedUntil>2008-03-31 11:35:17</cachedUntil> </eveapi>

I've found some API documentation at: http://myeve.eve-online.com/api/doc/
But it doesn't mention: http://api.eve-online.com/corp/StarbaseDetail.xml.aspx?...
Is there another page that documents additional API functions?
