We did some of the favorite quotes from movies, now whats your favorite movie? (Excluding Pron )
Mine would have to be Blackhawk down. I've probably watched that movie 100+ times and it never gets boring. One of the very few war movies done right.

The Jabberwocky one of my fave films.
Also XXX was a really good film when I saw it in the cinema but on DVD its got less impact...Excaliber is a great film, love those sword and scorcery types :P

Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, Hamburger Hill, Starship Troopers are some of my favourites, meaning I watch them regularly.
But my all time favourite, a movie that still stands out though it's a bit old, a movie no other movies can compete with is The Longest Day. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do, it's really a great movie.

The film that moved me the most (when I was a teenager) was Mask with Cher and Eric Stoltz...

It's "le Fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain" Very nice movie indeed.
I like a lot the LOTR trilogy... I add to this classical war movies (Platoon, Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket). The Alien serie is also one of my favorite ones.
The Quest for The Holy Graal, classical Monthy Pythons, still remains one of the best movies I've ever seen. (\_/) (O.o) (> <)=Oveur (proof) "Jumping 50 systems I can like, have sex 150 times during that period" |

1) Citizen Kane- The most boring, confusing, irritating movie of all time until the final scene. At that point though it all makes sense and you feel like you've been hit over the head with a sledgehammer. This is the greatest movie I've ever seen.
2) Bladerunner- Basically a rip off of metropolis, it still stands out as an incredible movie. Rutger Hower was awesome in this.
3) Metropolis - a visionary film about civilization, and it's downward spiral as we grow and expand.
4) Highlander- Vampires-but without the whole suck your blood and sleep in a coffin while shunning daylight thing. Excellent fight scenes.
5) The Princess Bride- The best sword fight in any movie I have ever seen. The dialogue was hilarious, the characters were bigger than life. The only "fairy tale" I have ever seen that pulled it off WITHOUT animation.
6) Lord of the Rings trilogy (Peter Jackson)- A near perfect adaptation of what is imoho the greatest fantasy epic of all time. (although robert jordan comes in a close second)
7) Saving Private Ryan- how could you not be moved by this movie? Tom Hanks was flawless as always, and the movie really brought out what it was like to have nbeen there on D-Day. The opening scene of that invasion is the most accurate that has ever been shot, according to numerous accounts of survivors.
8) Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure- I don't know why, I just like it.
9) It's a Wonderful Life - /shrug, I like Jimmy Stewart and happy endings, this has both.
10) The transporter- This is the best action movie I have ever seen. Virtually non stop.
Except for Citizen Kane, the rest are in no particular order, and there are LOTS more (gone with the wind, Forrest Gump, High Noon, etc), but those in particular come to mind as being really great.

Saving Private Ryan, the acting, action, effects and sets are fantastic but my favourite scene is when the captain (Tom Hanks) fills the squad in on his background "Whats the pool on me up to? I'm a school teacher..." I find that scene very moving. I also love Robocop, Ive always thought it was ahead of its time, i dont know why its just one of my favourites, thanks Paul Verhoeven (also made Starship Troopers, Total Recall).
Star Wars IV used to be my all time favourite, but for some reason I dont really like it that much anymore, not sure if its because of the terrible episodes I and II (in comparison to the older episodes) or that ive just grown out of star wars.
