....I have a job for you all that you may be interested in as it will make you a great deal of money.
What you get out of this.
1. More security. People will be less likely to attack you. 2. A great deal of ISK - Millions depending - INSTANTLY.
What I get out of this.
1. Improved security rating. 2. A great deal of ISK - Millions depending - INSTANTLY.
Who should apply.
1. You'll need a shuttle. This will be destroyed 2. You must be willing to travel to the Molden Heath region. 3. You must have a bounty on you of more than 2 million ISK. 4. You'll have to trust me. Someone you've never met. 5. We must have never met. We cannot be in the same corp/alliance. 6. We must remain "acquaintances". Honest Guv. The plan.
You come to a system close to where I am in Molden Heath. If you cannot enter high sec we can organize a 0.0 space to meet so long as it's not too far.
You should set up your clone so that you will wake up in the system we're meeting in if everything goes t!t's up
I will meet you in a frigate. You should be in a shuttle or frigate, whatever is cheaper for you... Not a rookie ship.
I lock on to you, shoot you, blow you up and you warp back to the station in your pod. I then dock in the station you just went to. I send you ISK worth the value of 1/2 of the bounty I have just claimed on your head.
You now have ISK, I now have ISK. You no longer have a bounty on your head. I have a slightly increased sec rating for killing a 'wanted' man. We both win and go on our separate way....
...I believe I'm providing a decent service to all those who are irritated at bounty hunters and vigilante's coming after them. Anyone interested, please reply here.

There is one fatal flaw to your plan.
Why would someone split a bounty with you, when they can use an alt.

Flaw number 2, you need to pod the pirate to claim the bounty on their head.
Otherwise a very funny post

Good concept in theory, but fatally flawed in practice. The bounty system is ridiculously broken, if you see a pirate with a bounty he most likely put it on himself for e-peen enlargement, because no one on their right mind would spend money to put a bounty on a pirate, when he can just claim it with an alt.

I couldn't help but be reminded of Kryten from Red Dwarf..
Cat: "Maybe we should drop the defensive shields?"
Kryten: "A superlative suggestion sir, with only two drawbacks: one, we don't have any defensive shields and two, we don't have any defensive shields. I know that, technically, that's only one drawback, but it was such a big one I thought I'd mention it twice"

....so, the guy gets in a jump clone and I pod him, I still claim bounty and split it. Plan still works and he just pays out for a new clone with the bounty.
Now, see my problem was that I'm no pirate, never tried it myself. This idea just popped into my head so I decided to give it a try.
Now something told me CCP would at least have made it so that people on your friends list, in your corp or in your alliance and especially, people coming from the same IP (i.e alts) wouldn't be able to claim the bounty, otherwise my plan is outright obvious.
Oh well... it was a nice idea at least (nearly got me some easy ISK then, people all go spoil it with there logic, damn you all... logic has no place in my plans. It was not invited).

Edited by: Ulstan on 19/12/2007 14:29:40 You are far from the first to realize that bounties are currently simply free ISK for pirates.
Any pirate wishing to get rid of his bounty can have an alt do it and get 100% of the proceeds - no need to travel somewhere and split it with a stranger.

Yeah. I realise that now... unfortunately I had enough faith in CCP to think they would at least have TRIED to nerf that so pirates don't claim there own bounties.

Umm what? Aren't you the guy that tried to get people to mass-exploit this flaw in the system to make some money without work in the above OP? You are still joking, aye?
