How is the explosion radius of a cruise missile calculated after ship and skills, and rigs.
Specifically, Stealth Bomber Level 4, and Guided Missile Precision Level 4. And, can stealth bomber alpha strike interceptors into a pod or structure yet?

How do you get to that figure? I am calculatiin 80 explosion radius with guided 4, and stealth bomber 4. |

Edited by: Grimpak on 20/12/2007 00:39:43 all bombers have a 16.66% reduction of expl radius on CM's per frigate level, wich equates to rohguly at ~85% or a bit lower. that applied to a CM lowers the expl radius to 50, and then you apply skills. ---

Just remember that explosion velocity is not affected at all. So interceptors will utterly ruin your day. "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" |

I've been considering some anti inty work with a stealth bomber (considering how inties will generally fly directly at something in an attempt to decloak it).
I guess relying on someone's silliness is a bit much. =/

It's a risk. If he gets close enough to lock, it's ALL over. Even if you do cloak and he burns clean past you (decloaking you in the process), will you be able to lock and apply a web before he's clear and able to lock/kill YOU?
At the end of the day, bombers should avoid interceptors. Pick on assault frigs - they go boom pretty damn quick. "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" |

Ok - people I have talked with say level 4 skills get you the 40 m expl radius and that is where my problem was. Those calc's with level 4 skill all around will bring the expl radius to 80, and level 5 skills in stealth bomber and guided missile gets to 37.5. |

it depends really.
for example, in my corp, we managed to kill a zealot with 4 bombers. it costed us a nemesis tho.
using bombers means you have to leave all you know about frigate warfare behind, and start to think in the way of a U-boat captain. Stealth and ambush are the key points here, together with clever usage of Ewar and sense of opportunity. ---

Web plus damps. They come into range you web them and they go pop. They stay out of range, you just warp away. It may not work against Crows, and probably won't work with the 3 mid slot bombers.

the 3mid slot bombers can have a chance if they don't use the mwd, and go for something like 1 sensor booster + 2 RSD's. ---

I easily killed some ceptors in my sb. Damp them >> they have to get into web range >> pop
if they don't get into web range they cannot lock u and u simply warp off

Fit bomber with cruise launchers. Put cruise missiles into said launcher. Right click the loaded cruise missiles and do a show info. It will show the new skill adjusted explosion radius. Dance.

If there's any confusion at all about the explosion radius and how much each aspect and skill affects it, then just fire up EFT - "all will be revealed", so to speak.
