EDIT: That is just based on your provided pic, which is showing amarr t2 component. ___________________

Nay, as a damnation producer I can confirm that the antimatter reactor units were reasonably steady around that time. All of the reactor units are exceedingly expensive now.

They come from the moons. The parts needed to make the reactor units are also exceedingly expensive.

I'm no industrialist, but maybe you could look into acquiring a POS and staking a claim at the appropriate moons.
It might ease your profit margins in the long run? ---------------------------------

Meh, my idea seemed reasonable. Could blame it on the wars in the south, but this late spike wouldnt really fit that, unless CVA truly does fly primarily amarr, and TRI is popping a bunch. Again, just going off your screenshot, it was in tash murkon. ___________________

Edited by: Gamer4liff on 23/12/2007 01:26:02 The prices were bad all over, even in Jita. I believe this increase in the price can probably be attributed to people stocking up on components to use with bpcs of the new ships. And as I said I don't really have the know-how to run a POS, or the standings needed for a lowsec one.

totally limited supply side for crucial materials. (only so many moons out there for certain products, and they only punch out so much a day)
couple that flat limit with recent supply chain disruptions from Trinity changes, and biggest of all, New T2 ships, including jump freighters, to eat up more and more moon products.
limited supply plus increasing demand equals increasing cost.
least thats how it looks. plus odd fluctuations from speculation, etc.

I'd REALLY like to know in which backend system of New Eden you can find nuclear reactor units, plasma thrusters and laser sensor cluster that "haven't gone up much".
Considering that the prices of these components not only increased because of a simple production shortage (they take rather long to build) but mainly because of a price increase of the important complex reactions, which are shared among all races' components, I find that highly unlikely. -- [17:47] <Mephysto> its dead, jim |

You create a whole new range of T2 ships which have to be invented and build from T2 components with the resources coming out of 0.0 and expect market not reacting to this? |

this isn't market reaction to demand, it's someone buying out the entire reactor production chain on patch day.
moon product market has always been slow to react because of long production cycles. with thee post-patch demand for new ships, logistics nerf, and large amounts of 0.0 changing hands, it's going to take a long time for prices to recover from this market manipulation.

Lets not forget that there is a whole new industry that will be buying up those nice T2 material piles.
Inventors.
Take a look at the invention requirements for ships, and I'm assuming most mods, and you'll see that the actual invention cycle takes materials that used to be reserved for T2 manufacturing.
I was shocked to see that the price on Ferrogel was at 150,000 isk in one region (that being the cheapest price there). 150k per unit of ferrogel is like the price of a raven suddenly jumping to a billion isk.
Too bad the buyers weren't offering much more than ferrogel usually gets, or I'd have been sellin my whole stash and be a multi-billionaire overnight.
Anyway, invention takes these materials as well, so the demand is going up. I haven't heard of any major rise in the number of material generating POS's being put up, so the price is gonna go up until the market settles out (when more POS's go up).
It's not a spur of the moment decision to put up a POS.. lots of costs and time involved.. but anyone can see that the one's that are up already are going to be reaping the 'out of the gate' rewards of Trinity. Until the rest play catch-up, that is.

your point?
the prices are up because of the stuff to make the ships not the BPs maybe I'm missing something

1) Bevy of new T2 ships. 2) Supply chain disruption due to POS clusterf***. 3) Logistical changes make it harder to move materials to trade hubs. 4) Potential market manipulation. 5) I don't really follow the big wars; is anyone getting pounded hard enough ATM to reroute some of their revenue production to front line reinforcement?
Pick as many as you'd like. We knew this or a similar spike was coming.

could be that previous 'monopoly holders' no longer have control of the moons/systems they once did?
hmmmmmmm.
expect the price of tin foil to drop as a result as well..
