We've been on ZE BANDWAGON since before RZR & Co. went and retook Tenal, as we live up north and are very fond of our immediate neighbours (Morsus Mihi & RZR). This is why we're even down south right now - smacking FIX again after all this time is satisfying, sure, but we're really here because we <3 RZR. We normally don't do much forum posting, but seeing as a bunch of us are crotchety old Huzzah vets who lost our legs in the siege of FAT, this thread is a special occasion for us! ------ Director, No Quarter "There is no problem that cannot be solved by the judicious application of violence." |

I say this with respect, but this is not *quite* correct
Our 'first' time you refer too was a road trip, we had some fun, some good fights and were packing up to leave when, lo and behold 'Eve war 1' kicks off, so we extend our stay another 4 months. Largely due to bob's numerous and timely interventions, our (iron/rzr/mm/pure) combined weight could not deprive you of your stations. The mc's attack on the north signaled our 'second withdrawal' from the general querious area.
As much as i respect fix's spirit, resolve, and ability to *survive* the ONLY difference 'this' (the 3rd) time we are in your space, is that bob are significantly weaker/more preoccupied than the last time, and unable to aid in the defense of your towers and the removal of our own, with capital fleets numbering in the 50's, titans and motherships.
Again, I say this with respect, but you know this to be true. I (as a fixian myself long long ago) would be dissapointed if this resulted in the death of the alliance.
The early months of our '1st' trip to querious have been the most fun I've had for some time in this game. It is far from over, but I wish you luck in the future.

i for one will never sleep soundly for fear that fix's mighty offensive prowess will be unleashed by this
'unleashed'
hey remember when all the fix guys had 'ixion unleashed' sigs
that always struck me as weird since it was after they lost their independence and willingly took all their orders from bob
Wow, you really do have quite a bit of free time on your hands
RZR really carried themselves well with no smack talk, and harrassed our systems non-stop. GF and good luck in your new home. Thanks for keeping the station name in I1y :)

Back in Q2 '06 in the wake of a global BoB standings reset, FIX were on the ropes as a result of a merry little group of alliances that ended up being called the CODA (Coalition of Dead Alliances). They had lost all their stations but 9CG, which was itself under siege and seemed doomed to fall. Around this time a bunch of FIX guys started flaunting "Ixion Unleashed" sigs, claiming that "the bindings were broken" and that by losing their stations they would become MORE POWERFUL THAN WE COULD EVER IMAGINE.
An example of one of these sigs:
Alas, before we could learn the truth of this, FIX did some incredible tonguework on BoB who then decided to swoop in, drive off the invaders, and reduce FIX to local adjutants of BoB-owned Querious as compensation for their intervention. Thus died the old sovereign FIX, and in its place was born the subject FIX we all know and love today.
Anyways, a bunch of the Huzzah Federation guys from that time considered the entire thing to be more like "Ixion Unhinged", and from that memory a rather terrible 'shop job is born.
this is the veritas line, innit
i wonder which was the first alliance to lose all their space and then claim it had 'freed them' and 'made them more powerful' because man is it a terrible meme and im sick of it after like the nth failure cascade
anyway the whole idea of 'ixion unleashed' is so full of doublethink that it's an excellent example of why FIX should disband in shame

Vae Victis as an alliance has lived in Venal all of its life. Now, as for No Quarter, the corp behind Vae Victis (as it's really just our standings alliance)...yeah, it's had its fair share of bouncing around, although virtually all of that was during its first half-year of its existence. Since then we've settled down in our "own" little slice of Venal (inasmuch as any NPC space can belong to any particular group, anyways) and are just a few weeks short of one year up there.
As for the "NO TERRITORY SHALL MAKE US DEADLY" bit of memetics, I was having to put up with that sophistry during my Shadowbane days in '03, so I'm thinking it's just an instinctive human attempt to rationalize imminent death, destruction, loss of property, misery, suffering, and overall failure. ------ Director, No Quarter "There is no problem that cannot be solved by the judicious application of violence." |

I used to be in Fix during the time of the unleashed sigs. so I just wanna add a bit about the old Ixion sigs, and a bit of what was really behind the idea.
First off Firmus Ixion comes from the name "Ixion" which comes from greek mythology, he was a king who went on a bit of a killing spree and killed members of his own family and for this, Ixion was bound by chains to a burning solar wheel for all eternity.
After coda, when fix had the living smelly stuff kicked out of them, fix went through a new phase where new leaders and structure was implemented and thus the sigs were made.
"Ixion Unleashed" " the binding are broken" - the chains from the burning wheel
It wasnt meaning we are more hardcore cos our stations are gone, or anything like that, it was simply a case of "We've set Ixion free and time to wake up and focus on fighting and settle some scores with the multiple alliances that came at fix during coda" - and step it up a notch as it were.
Back then FIX lost loads of members and a lot of carebears left too. so was basically a new era for fix after a long fought out bloody battle with Coda.
At least thats what I remember those sigs being made for when I was in fix during that time. google ixion and you can find out more info about it if your into greek mythology and that sorta thing.
Also Good job taking the stations in Q, sad for fix, but they are like a rubber ball they will bounce back I'm sure :)
Cheers \o
This has been posted in good taste, and of my own opinion, and nothing to do with my corp, blah blah blah.

Lol... I so have to agree with this. The whole concept of "Fixion Unleashed" as a PR stunt after the CODA war, when FIX promptly allowed BoB to slip a leash around their neck in order to remain in Querious, is so full of irony its hillarious.
And Lazy Dog... no amount of regurgitation of greek mythology is gonna change that.
The real, less glamorous, reason FIX is called Firmus Ixion is because we had to come up with a name in a hurry and the old boys wanted FIX in the name somehow in reference to JK-FIX, the old name for the region, before it was renamed Qu33rious... i mean Querious. FIX >>> Firmus IXion. Avernus can take all the credit for that masterful play on words ...
I really have to ask a question of the geniuses that allowed BoB to turn FIX into an alliance that became the text book example of a pet, a prostrated, castrated pet.
What the hell did you do it for?.. you bought yourselves another year and a half of shame?.. you dragged out the inevitable.. that as soon as anybody put their mind to it and BoB would not be able to save you, you would get kicked out.
What was the point of becoming a serf to BoB post-CoDA... did you really think you could live under BoB's skirt and then survive them, when their time came?
I'm going to say it here.. cause its a good thread for it, the whole upper levels of FIX's leadership are a disgrace.... you should be ashamed of yourselves. Do the right thing now... and put the old girl to rest.

Hmmm shame in an online game. Only thing that comes close to EvE causing me to feel shame is 2 things:
1)Not being able to play enough to support my corpmates the way I wish I could. 2)The slow decline of a large portion of the EvE community over my entire time playing 4+ yrs.
I think #2 has more to do with how much time I spend ingame and has affected #1.

Look at you talking about e-shame! lulz!
Is that related to this e-honor thing that gets mocked so often? Or maybe the e-courage, like when badboys like Kyrie Elaison talk about posting with stones? Or were those e-stones? It's hard to keep up, when you're a ReeRee. I'm sure there are some very fine distinctions there the goonie e-philosopher kings have worked out.

Nez kicks ass.
He's extremely hard working, both in regulating and governing FIX, and in maintaining our relations with the rest of EVE.
He also finds time to undock and fight...
In my opinion the governing and politics are the hardest and most often most thankless job in EVE. Nez does them, and in so doing he has been a pivotal player in establishing FIX as a player in the South.
You may comment on Nez from the peanut gallery all you want, but I'm in the arena with him, day in and day out, and he has my solid support and admiration for his efforts.

You know what that bolded part in the quote means... that means that even though I did not FC, I was in gangs every day that I was online whilst in FIX. So how about you STFU.. and mind your own business. Btw S3vyn would turn in his virtual grave if he saw you standing up for FIX, you were his favourite poster by far... that alone is a huge indication of how far FIX have deviated from their origins.

Oh no! Metal Dude is going to wtfpwn a FIX Diplomat!
Guess what, I don't have to undock to defeat you in battle. Just like the FIX military doesn't have to sign onto the forums to beat you here. We have roles, I fill mine and they fill theirs.
Feel free to target me first in any engagement you find me in. FIX is an alliance, which infers that we do relatively few things alone because we LIKE each other and would rather play as a group. Which we do quite well.
Keep threatening me. I don't fear your guns, I don't fear your (lack of) forum prowess. Nor does FIX. Go try to intimidate someone else, your efforts are wasted on us.
Exactly. You don't fight. You only talk **** on the forums. You just confirmed that you're a coward with a big mouth.
When your alliance doesn't exist any more, it's because of you. I hope you didnŠt pay too much for that diplomacy course you're taking, because you're bad at it. Unfortunately for your alliance members, you're not good for anything else. Good luck in finding a diplomatic post somewhere when your alliance either don't exist anymore or they realizes that you are the sole reason for their troubles. Some people just never learn.
I'm done. See you around if I'm lucky enough to spot you. I love shooting diplomats with big mouths. Not very challenging, but rewarding never the less.
There you go Metal Dude another pleasant blast from the past..... who would have thunk it.. that you would be standing in CAOD defending FIX, from that nasty troll Nez. Ofc FIX had to become a BoB pet first.
