I recently put up a P.O.S. and its been up for 7 days now and the shields on my tower dont want to go above 65%. Is this a new feature? I have tried searching the forums and useing the search funtion but everything I have looked at and or read has not answered my question.
I used my carrier the other day to help the shields get closer to 100% but when the server came back up all that time and energy was wasted cause the shields went right back to 65%. Am I missing something here?
Please no flames. Also if there is a forum about this please just be kind and link me the link if there is one. Thank you in advance.

I noticed something similar. I have a funny feeling the shields are resetting at downtime. Every time i check they back down to 50%
Im still awaiting responce from my other pos petitions since the Trinity patch. CCP are sloooow

It's a bug. Either use shield transporters to recharge the shields yourself, or file a petition.

I filed a petition on the 20th when mine kept resetting to 50% at downtime. It hadn't been answered by the 24th, at which point it came out of its 1.5-day reinforced period and died a humiliating death.
The petition is still open.

It's a "known" bug, so expect the GMs to tell you to buzz off.

Indeed new POS towers will reset shield to 50% unless they were at 100% before downtime.
So I recharged it using two Basilisks for some 4 hours.
I hear a single Osprey takes some 14 hours.
It was at 100% an hour before downtime, and indeed,
its at 100% after downtime now.
This issue is listed in the Trinity patchnotes as resolved, but it is not.
Fly safe.

define close?, you need 95/96% for it to stick last time I had to do it... took a bit of time in a single carrier... would have been a bit faster but my cap shield transfer skill was **** at the time

Petition it if you are having your POS shields reset after downtime. They will fix it in a week or two tops.

if its a small pos, look at repping it yourself with carriers
if its a large, and you can find the people willing to sacrifice alot of time to rep them, then go for it
otherwise petition it and ask for the GM for them to come and manually repair the shields

The GMs will not repair shields for this bug. Since its a known issue they are "working on a fix" and not some glitch, you will be told they can't do a thing.
I had the same issue with a tower recently installed. Every day after DT it would go to 50%, and slowly recharge. It would get about 86% before DT but then reset itself again. I was told that if it was at 100% @ DT it would not do this. So yesterday I spent 4 hours repping it up to 100, and today at server up, it was still at 100.
So this does work, if you have time, inclination, and a few carriers, or a dozen basilisks....
According to Oveur, existing LSAA's already anchored will stay there.

How can it be a so called "Known Bug" if the Patch Notes (Dec. 18th) says:
"The cause of the starbase shield reset at downtime has been found and resolved as part of a hotfix." ???
Should we all use our own Bug-List

Because like so many other things CCP *thought* they had it fixed but never adequately tested it. There are loads of things that never make it to the "known issues" page, probably because CCP does not want that page to become multiple pages in length.
Every POS we have anchored since Trinity we have had to petition a GM to unstick the shields from resetting at downtime. Each time we petition they fix it promptly.

If you rep the shield to 95% and a bit....it will stay that way and go up to 100% on it's own.
Some people claim it's just a video bug and it's actually already at 100%, but if that was the case you couldn't rep it and watch it go up 1% ... 1% ..... 1% for hours. HEH
Just one more .... feature. |
