I usually made about 100-120 mill a day in my standard, T2 fitted Raven. I can do about 150-200 mill a day in my CNR if I wanted to.

Originally by: Jenny Spitfire From my experience, I have been running level four missions and they give me rewards like 3M per mission and takes about three to five hours to complete solo. Loot can be totally useless because they are like ion blaster cannon, large armor repairer or some meta one or two items. I had been salvaging wrecks and collecting loot but after like the tenth missions, I have totally stopped doing so. It isn't really worth the time salvaging and looting because it adds another one to two hours collecting peanuts.
Have I been doing something wrong or is it that I have been totally unlucky with loot? I haven't seen any faction mod or meta four item yet.
If your mission ship doesn't have a tractor beam and salvager on it, you have no business launching it for missions.
A Raven has the two extra slots for it built in. You can salvage and loot in situ, organize anything you can't carry into a single can for easier recovery from a hauler post mission, and cut no less than two hours off your time having to crawl around the wrecks after you're done with the mission.
Yes, it means you can't AFK a mission to salvage in combat, but the benefit of actually doing some of the clean up while the battle still rages ups your profitability significantly.

Dunno what the OP is complaining about. Did one L3 mission yesterday and the Agent reward/bonus plus the NPC bounties came to about 7 million ISK. The salvage and reprocessed loot drops was another 3 million on top of that. Was a lovely mission and hope to get it again soon.

I'm sure it has already been mentioned but just in case it hasn't, learn Negotiation and the proper Connections for your agent. You will see both lp and isk increase. ________________________

I prefer a nos and a drone link augmentor. My little salvage ship can hold 4 tractor beams and 4 salvagers and is 10 times faster than a raven. Takes all of 10 minutes to salvage and loot the biggest missions.
Ever try to loot a wreck that is 70km away and your top speed is 136m/s?

For those of you saying it takes you 2-3 hours to do a L4 and they suck, are you playing the same game as me??

Either that or they probably don't really like the game or are uber-carebears. _____________________________ Thorek Ironbrow of Ironbrow Industries Co. Part of the Empire Research Alliance Look us up in Nomaa or Itamo to join! |

Quote: Currently there is pretty much no risk involved to run lvl4s
This is of course, completely untrue, given the numbers in the recent economic dev blogs. The Raven is the most lost ship in the game, and is lost at a far higher rate (80%) than most other ships that are not mission running workhorses. Same holds true for popular mission running ships Drake (60%) and CNR (70%). The inescapable conclusion therefore, is that mission running is not risk free, as if mission running were risk free, ships that run missions would have a far lower loss rate than ships that do not run missions.
Most t2 ships have an attrition rate of 50% or less. So, L4 missioning is far from being the least risky endeavor in EVE. I don't think its rewards need to be boosted, nor the missions made easier. Sure they're brutal on new players, but hey, what aspect of EVE isn't?
If something needs work, it's the atrociously bad rewards in low sec (let's see, what kind of rewards would I need in order to still turn a profit after getting run over by an 8 man pirate gang...) and the scarcity of good 0.0 ratting spots. The good ones are better than mission running, but there are so few.

Op was talking about level 3's mostly and all CNR guys jump in poasting about level 4 greatness. :p
I've been playing a year and I don't have isk for CNR. Not that I complain.
Level 4's are not easy to do, especially if you undocked while you still had skills under level V.
Also. I want to point out that if i'm a combat character I don't really give a crap about salvaging or picking every silly t1 piece just to maximize my isk income.
At least for me level 4's ain't so great isk and level 3's are not even worth of time. I still remember grinding those pesky level 3's with my drake it was pain to get iskies up.
Not saying I'm gonna wristcut or anything I am happily grinding some level 4's for isk, but...

Is that what that means? I would interpret it as carebears who think their setups are solopwn, and go get themselves spanked in pewpew. If you lose a ship in a mish after trial-time, that's just fail.
I'm probably wrong though, on many counts. ----- TANSTAAFL

Nope, my Rokhs always had a 100AB II Afterburner, so my top speed was 357 sustainable for extended periods, even while spamming Large Hybrid Antimatter rounds. I always caught the wrecks immediately after destruction, so I was never more than 35-40km from them after taking them down, at most, unless it was a rare occassion of sniping from extreme range, in which case, it was faster to fly another 20km away from the desired wreck, then warp to them from 151km away. Pop, tractor, loot & salvage while sustaining fire on the next target. Believe me, its insanely efficient. I skipped the NOS and used CCC I rigs and you've got me on the drone augmentator, though I never liked my drones being more than 30km from me, because when they went to their full range, a new pop would invariably attack them and destroy at least one before they made it to the drone bay. Yeah, I know, better skills, but my big grind at the time I was hardcore missioning was T2 Large Hybrids.
Its just how I rolled, I found it fast and efficient, with only one ship-one toon needed on site.

Er, that involves making a lot of very strange assumptions.
Quote: If you lose a ship in a mish after trial-time, that's just fail.

See, the 60m skill point faction fitted CNR veterans breeze through missions, as they should. I see a lot of people falling into the mistake that if missions are easy for *them* they are easy for *everyone*. What you all dont' realize is how utterly unrepresentative of the playerbase as a whole the tiny portion that posts on EVE-O is. We're the most hardcore players, the most knowledgeable, the most likely to have good fittings and good mods, etc.
If you hang out in the newbie channels or corps and such, there are never ending litanies of "Sigh, lost my second raven this week just now." from poor guys that *don't* have super awesome fittings, who *don't* have their ships worth of isk invested in rigs, who *don't* have heads full of +3/5% implants, who *don't* know to read up on the missions before hand, who *don't* understand which ships are the triggers, etc. So they lose ships - lots of ships. It may be slightly less risky than some other activities in EVE (PvP) but to say it's riskless is silly, as evidenced by the horrendous ship losses.
Remember, if the 'best of the best' find something very hard, that means the 'average' player will find it almost impossible and it will be pure murder for any newbie. That's obviously not the way CCP wants it, so for newbies its very hard, for 'average' players they still lose ships, and the vets lost almost nothing.
