I have fully t2 fit raven, torpedoes lvl 5 and after trinity im struggling with missions. normal torpedoes can hit like 25km max, javelins around 40km.
in missions there are a lot of mobs who are faster than me and who try to get away fro me, they fly at like 50km away from me.. how im supposed to shoot these down? afterburners are not an option cuz my tank will be ****** up then.. im lost. using cruise missiles for now but killing with them is sooooo damn slow

You have to keep in mind that there were some changes done to the behavior of torpedoes over the years that EVE exists. Make sure you scroll down the build guide posts you read to make sure that the builds you read about are still relevant. If i am not mistaken the current concensus is that the best way to fit a raven for missioning is with cruise missiles.

the questions has the same level of expertise as a "noob" question :)
raven with cruise does the same dps as any other similiar fittet mission bs.
(eg. 555dps on a navy raven with 3 cn bcus vs. 558 dps on a navy apoc with 3 an heat sinks)

I use only blasters on my deimos or astarte because the damage is higher, but the range is very short, should I complain?
40km is much over what you can do with a blaster and null ammo (except the rokh, but I'm nout sure even a rokh could do this).
The fact is you have two options :
-Cruise missiles
-Make your ship faster!
Using overdrives sacrifices armor tanks, using an astronautic rig sacrifices armor HP.
Use a damn afterburner and sacrifice some of your shield tank or use cruise missiles!
I agree that the bad part in this is the fact the skills are not the same for torps and cruise missiles.
Also, I would point to stasis webifiers drones that should fix your issues on catching the BS going far away and the missile rigs should help a bit with the range.
Sure that the ones fleeing at 40km will go down if you use rigs, but the ones going at like 60 will still be an issue because the drones won't fly further than this, maybe a drone link augmentor would help with this issue?
There are other fitting options, adapt.

Surely you don't want to have someone try to post a legitimate question about playing the game on the flames and whines forum that is EVE General discussions? I like to think that any question about the game in the state it is in at present that another player could answer is welcome here  .
Especially as he seems to be more after advice on how to make his current fit work than on how to fit his ship better, making it a bit unsuited for the ships and fittings forum  .

torps have become great for close range pvp
pve wise go for cruises
unless you know enemies will come in at 30 km

Indeed, welcome to the new Caldari, Cruise Missiles for you, Torps for Minmatar. After all, you would not want to have any sort of an Advantage over the Gallente because you decided to use something like Missiles instead of a Blaster Rokh without Ship Based Damage Mods that would still likely fail to catch anything short of the common Computer Virus.
Now back to my Auto/Torp Nano-Phoon.
