It is possible that BoB had visualised an epic slugfest where they would engage the whole of EVE, and make a heroic stand against unsourmantable odds and inflict possibly mortal wounds on their enemies. However, I for one am positive that in no shape or form did they envisage Goonswarm as the vocal ringleaders of the whole affair. There is too much doublethink in this whole "we planned it this way" angle, for it to be real. I doubt having GS ram BoB's defeat down their throats is going to be very palatable, thats if BoB are defeated which I don't yet believe is a foregone conclusion, or at least not as simple as many are making out to be. Which is why we have page after page of posts from BoB's internal forums indicating that their one and only desire was to control all of 0.0 and be imaginary space tyrants? That's all irrelevant though because some people just have a "feeling" that BoB has had this all mapped out, they just know what they know, right? Every alliance plans for epic things, but saying that BoB "planned" to lose everything and get completely and utterly embarrassed by an alliance they once claimed was dead and buried is the most pathetic backpedaling we've seen since LV's original "we didn't want that space anyway".
