Mine too...but given the high stakes and high cost associated with 0.0 infrastructure, it's really hard to envision a situation where large power blocs don't exist. I do hope things do winds down to smaller, regional conficts, though. No doubt about it.
Personally, I believe BoB itself is stronger than most (if not all) other single alliance in the game. Therefore, when they choose to atack someone in the future, it stands to reason that the attacked entity is going to call as many friends as it can to try to survive. That doesn't even taken into account the inevitable friends of BoB (every alliance has friends). Of course, the key (as always these days) is how much does an invaded entity want to keep its space? We've seen plenty of examples of alliances pulling up stakes without much of a fight.
Failing to rally everything to stop BoB in the future really just means we start the whole cycle again.
It will be interesting to see how things end up working out, to be sure.

if this crap is true, seems like the sort of thing they would do. I mean come on, who wants to fight easily? That makes the game boring! Much more fun when you're on the run :P

You are right, BoB did take a lot of LV, but they took the part that wanted to continue the fight.
Basically you can say that BoB has amassed all the players that wanted the fight to rage on and it was the turncoats...errr carebears that killed the alliances that you mention.
lol bob took the part that had all the titans and major assets.

And just to comment on the OP; The words and the way it has played out may have changed but the content and plan is the same as when I heard it the first time; BoB planned for epic things inluding scenarios like they are facing now for a long time.

Quote: DB Preacher reminded everyone that the original plan was: 1. attack ascn, **** them off, take out capital fleet. 2. attack d2-, **** them off, take out capital fleet. 3. Spend next year in delve with all of eve attacking us. Sir Molle rectified dbp's post saying that it was supposed to be D2 first.
As Kugutsumen can hardly be called a BoB pet, I think it proves Molle said the truth: that's what they planned for all along.

We'd been planning for FREGE to leave the drone regions and disband ever since we formed up and moved to the drone regions.
This was of course part of a plan hatched by BoB years ago to manipulate the entire game so that they would lose all their space and emerge the ultimate victors.

It is possible that BoB had visualised an epic slugfest where they would engage the whole of EVE, and make a heroic stand against unsourmantable odds and inflict possibly mortal wounds on their enemies.
However, I for one am positive that in no shape or form did they envisage Goonswarm as the vocal ringleaders of the whole affair. There is too much doublethink in this whole "we planned it this way" angle, for it to be *real*.
I doubt having GS ram BoB's defeat down their throats is going to be very palatable, thats if BoB are defeated which I don't yet believe is a foregone conclusion, or at least not as simple as many are making out to be.

Right, BoB has had this planned all from the start. Which is why we have page after page of posts from BoB's internal forums indicating that their one and only desire was to control all of 0.0 and be imaginary space tyrants? That's all irrelevant though because some people just have a "feeling" that BoB has had this all mapped out, they just know what they know, right?
Every alliance plans for epic things, but saying that BoB "planned" to lose everything and get completely and utterly embarrassed by an alliance they once claimed was dead and buried is the most pathetic backpedaling we've seen since LV's original "we didn't want that space anyway".

People seem to forget that we wanted this war, we wanted these odds, we wanted the challenge, we wanted this much pressure and we wanted to risk everything. Why? So we could engineer the most epic conflict Eve has ever seen, create the best player driven content in any MMO ever and ensure both you (yes all of you, even Mittani Razz) and we have the most fun ever. The likes of Molle, Galavet, Thol, Coranor and myself have been dreaming of this and working towards it for years.
I can tell you for sure that forcing us out of Delve won't kill us, as a group of corporations and people we work too well together, have too much history together, have too much fun together and enjoy each other's company too much to just go our seperate ways.
Even if we have a few months off doing our own thing as a break if/when we get forced out of Delve, you'll see BoB back in action again somewhere. We've been gaming together for close on four years now, losing this war (and remember we've been working towards this climax for two years now) and losing the rest of our territory will just push us into a new phase, new style, new goals, new challenges and more fun.
I for one will most certainly hold my head up high, stick a finger up at everyone and laugh when I say "we went down fighting in Delve and look how many of you ******* it took to do it... I hope you all had as much fun as we did" Razz
If you think having someone like 0utbreak landing on your doorstep is painful, look forward to having a territory-less BNC, RKK, Evol, DICE and Finfleet landing on your doorstep, it'll be like having a high speed gravel enema in space.
In terms of what happens after this war politically, I hope we see a rash of much smaller territorial wars, much shorter positive standings lists all round and see the demise of massive multi-alliance power blocks (at least for a while).
