In spite of, I'm sure, your best intentions you should have forseen that this thread would instantly turn into yet another "boohoo-amarr-teh-sucks-sniff-booooooooost" threads that you, me and probably many others are getting rather tired of. And of course it did.

Vids dont prove anything. Mostly you own people because of advantagous fitting or by crushing them with overwhelming skill points if we exclude pure ganks. ---------------------------------------------

I agree with you here, some Amarr ships are awesome especially the absoultion! The recons need looking at and perhaps the Apoc but thats it imho.
Im not loosing much sleap over being a dedicated Amarr pilot just using the ships which are 'fixed'

Originally by: TigerWoman amarr have some okayish ships like: harbinger, crusader, geddon, baddon and khanid-line.
mayor complaints are more about the no use sub bc ships and the apoc. and even if passive plated gedodns/baddons are nice in gang the problem is that a mwd which is more or less mandatory is just not rly cool with amarr ships due to cap and/or fitting.
while a mwd on a blaster mega is needed to get into blaster range you can use it to mwd out of bubbles too. on blaster/ac ships you want to have the mwd to get into your perfect range and it also allows you to move through bubbles or run if needed.
much guys say you should not fly amarr like you fly gallente, but if gallente are as good as amarr on plated setups (nearly) and far better with rep+mwd setups and the fact that a mwd is more or less needed in 0.0 leaves amarr as the king of midrange combat (which does not rly exist), the king of long range tracking (which you dont need), the king of close range optimal (again a thing you dont rly need).
the abaddon is awesome as long as you have a station close to you..... t1 cruisers are worthless (except arbi). hacs are average.
i would say amarr has 2 decent subcapitals which are the damnation (with a very good tank and nice gangmods) and the guardian ( cap and rep transfer is very good ).
compare that with other races ships and their use in todays combat: eagle - superior anti support sniper vaga - awesome hvy tackler and decent roaming ship ishtar - well dronepower nanoable or tankable hurricane - a dream of a tier 2 bc myrmidon - even with "only" 5 med drones a hell of a ship with awesome tank and nice gank crow - dam nice tackler mega-domi-hyp: gallente bs lineup is just nice recons: nice ships throughout all races. dictors: sabre is still the best. hics: broadsword, onyx.....
i left some ships out cause i dont know them rly so i did not want to judge them.
amarr would be fine if the could use their midrange pro more, but atm there is combat below 20km or above 160km which arent rly ranges for amarr to shine.
lets hope for boostpatch.....
This needs to be shown again. A few good ships with an overall mediocre lineup otherwise.
And who is this person who lost to a Maller in a Thorax? Are they new or something?
Also: Necessity of MWD is a problem, therefore, Cap is a problem, therefore, maintaining range is a problem, therefore, lasers range advantage is useless.

What? It is not very good for solostuff, it has neither good tank or dps to be good in gang... so what exactly is so awesome about abso?

I really don't understand what the fuss is all about, as several people have explained, some amarr ships are actually not _that_ bad. You never see a "boost the bellicose !!1" topic because noone ever flies them, why can't amarr just stick with their reasonable ships.

One of the main problems Ive encountered with the Amarr ships is:
You have to have ALL of the skills relevant to that ship at level 5. Then and only then do the ships actually perform on par with other races.
What other races have to have all of the relevant skills for that particular ship at level 5? None that Im aware of and I currently fly Minmatar, Caldari and Amarr (sorry no Gallente yet).
For example. The Curse. This ship is a.s.s until you have Force Recon to 5 and all relevant energy skills to 5. Even then its not powerful, its just..passable.

As a new Eve player, I've had a lot of trouble running level 1 missions in Amarr frigates. The armor rep on my Punisher drains the capacitor too quickly to do very much repairing, so I'm often reduced to 'sniping' one or two ships at long range and then warping out. Unfortunately, beam lasers outfitted with range-extending crystals seem to be neither particularly accurate nor very damaging.
Pretty much any ship with missiles just destroys me, since they're perfectly accurate at long range while my beams are hitting perhaps 50% of the time. Even with a 100mm plate and a passive armor hardener, I still take so much damage that I will easily drain the cap running the armor repairer.

Use the Coercer fitted with lower grade beams. Don't fit plates in missions, fit a repper with some resist stuff and/or cap regen stuff.
