YAHTZEE !!!
Guess that's CCP's way of nerfing blobs and making a place for small-scale warfare...

Wrong.
The freighter will warp, if you have 1000 points on him in 3 seconds flat, as long as he logs with cloak. The timer, however, will keep his ship in space for a good 15 minutes. In those 15 minutes, hes scannable and killable.
That's why the freighter pilot logs on shortly after. Upon logging on, his ship will warp from that place where his ship was emergency warped off to and back to the last spot he was in OR gave his ship the order to warp to before logging. Now, he's not to keen on landing on that gate again, so once the ship initiates warp (once he's back in), he logs off again.
Now, the next time he logs on, his ship is in an entirely new position. He then warps to the destination gate. First sign of trouble? He logs again. Rinse and repeat until he's on top of the gate.
Right, but you're wrong.
When a player logs off with no agression timer (as in no-one has shot them nor have they shot anyone in the last 15 minutes, including webs from friends etc...) they disappear after about 30 seconds. You can sometimes lock them and shoot them for the thirty seconds, but if they logged off before you shot at them, they disappear. It's interesting to note however, that if this pilot logs back on in 15 min he has a new 15 minute timer and if he logs off again he WILL stay in space for 15 minutes.
Sometimes, but not always logging on then off again immediately will change where you go when you log back on. this isnt always the case, but doing so several times makes it highly unlikely that someone will log back on where they logged off. Although to be honest.. anyone with half decent probe skills would catch you doing this :)
In short:
Shoot them while logged on and they log off= 15 minutes to probe and/or kill shoot them after they log off = 30seconds to kill HOWEVER if they log on within 15 min of that initial log offski IF YOU SHOT THEM before their ship vanished= 15 min to probe and/or kill IF THEY LOG BACK ON!
And yes logoffski's are no fun. ---- VHI - We Haul Your Cargo For Free ---- We Miss you Red 7. |
