I personally have sold a lot of the listed skillbooks at higher prices in empire space... so MP's prices for 0.0 were very low if you ask me. People pay that tiny markup just to not have to travel 1 jump. I agree with the person who thought this started as a whine thread and MP is trying to cover that up now because he realizes how silly this thread looks. Here's the full history: 1) Taiyo buys out a bunch of old books in PNQ that have been selling fairly well, paying my standard prices for them (typically anywhere from 5x-20x Empire price). 2) In the process of finding out more about this Taiyo fellow, I run across someone who's interested in my books, including a lot of them that I've had trouble selling for a while now (like Large Pulse Laser Spec, though business on that has admittedly picked up a bit in the last couple months). He expresses concern that he can't charge high prices. I point to Taiyo, he says that Taiyo is special and the alliance wouldn't stand for it if they knew what Taiyo was doing, anyway. 3) I post this thread. 4) I look on the market in PNQY and identify what skillbooks he (Taiyo) is selling. He clearly has no idea what he's doing; he's put up exactly ten of every skill he's selling, whether it's a fast seller like large T1 turret variants (specs are a completely-different market) or a horribly-slow seller like Rapid Firing. I systematically undercut his prices by large amounts if the book in question is a slow seller, or by smaller amounts if I don't mind actually waiting for the item in question to sell. While I'm certainly aware of the possibility that he'll run through and buy me out again, I can't know how much capital he's starting with, so I assume he'll go for the "good deals" (i.e., the ones with the greatest spread between my price and his) first. As these are my slowest sellers, this is ideal for me. 5) Seeing the reaction to this thread, my buyer gobbles up just over a billion isk in slow-selling skillbooks for a billion and a half isk. 6) Taiyo buys out not just the slow sellers that I'd priced temptingly (a "mere" 100%-300% profit), but also the quick sellers that I'd priced at 400% or higher. 7) I dance a happy dance and post here. Total haul: 50% profit on 1b and (ballpark) 400m on items worth, at most, around 50m. Plus, a bunch of skillbooks that would otherwise have had to be evacuated from 0.0 and sold in noob stations are now liquid isk again. Win! That character's remaining slots are taken up with things that do sell well in that particular station. Any ZERO. investor with an alt can check the corp wallet and find out exactly what those are, but I don't intend to post them here. By and large, they are not skillbooks. Altho he trades with an alt at that station its no big secret who he is in BRUCE (and he is a huge asset to the bruce industry in 0.0) and likewise no secret he would outplay you every day of the week. And your threats of resupplies are as void as a big fat chunk of nothing as it would be ooh so hard to find out which alt you supposidly had in BRUCE. Your whines are mucho amusing tho...

Sure, this thread has somehow helped your plight MP but I can't understand how you could predict that the person would buy more after being told you were ripping him off... It's like me buying a car from a car dealer. The car dealer then laughs at me telling everyone how he sold me a car for like 10x overprice. I hear about this, and go back to the dealership and buy another car for 10x overprice. The dealer then comes back and says he meant for this to happen the whole time. It's all so damned confusing. The edit on the first post replacing it with a hyperlink almost seems to indicate hiding the first post in some way to make it seem like this was your end goal the whole time. Maybe I have missed the plot somewhere.
