oh ffs, not another "nerf speed" thread.
after nerfing speed, we will only get either gank or tank. whoopdiedoo.
welcome to the age of the spider tanking where everything LESS than a HAC is useless for PvP, and fights become 100vs100 slugfests where if you get one kill is something extraordinary.
oh btw, it's easy to kill speedy ships.

the crow didn't do squat on that fight, however this fight taught me one thing: a 3.8km/sec mwd'ing taranis can kill a 8km/sec stilleto
how? brains, patience and lots of nanite paste. oh and btw, even overloading the mwd, I can only go at 5.6km/sec or so.
the freakin' tools are ingame damnit. and you people have a brain. USE IT ---

Surely you can see the detrimental effect this has had? You're an intelligent, surely you can see how polycarbs has devalued Minmatar as the skirmish race.
This is actually one of the amazing things about SPEED, is that a variety of ships can do this to some degree. Vaga stands alone as fastest HAC and you have a whole class of ships which now are not nearly as fast, have to sacrifice any repping tank, and can be destroyed quickly. Your argument against speed is the exact reason why its not overpowered, certainly not FOTM, and a vital important but not overpowered portion of the game. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
still, if there was a speed nerf, the one and only nerf I would accept would be toning down polys in line with the rest of the speed rigs (polys are superior to nanofibers, while on the rest of the speed rigs/modules we see the opposite happening, as in module is better than rig), and maybe, but JUST MAYBE the snake implants.
other than that and it's going overboard. ---

the world of warcraft expatriots would have this game flipped upside down and catering to mainly mission running if they had been here first. as it turned out though the first eve players were sick of that kind of game play and wanted something more open ended. They played a key role in helping ccp to swing eve into a niche in the gaming market favoring pvp over ease of operation.
I have been flying in 0.0 for years now and I have never felt any problems were present with nanoships. they come and go, maybe gank 1 npc'er whos not paying attention or something and then get chased off. If you are constantly having problems with these ships. band together with your corp mates and do something about it rather than sitting off in a belt somewhere watching teletubbies while you get ganked. Dont call for changes that will in the end do nothing but bring forth another FOTM and make ships that people have spent a year+ training for completely useless.
speed needs to be nerfed because it breaks the "rock paper scissor" design ccp uses. speed allows you to engage whomever you like and anything short of a huggin or another vagabond isn't going to even be able to fight back because of turret and missle explosion velocity.
if they introduced more counters for nano based ships like webs OTHER then officer webs that reached out to 30km I'd call it balanced because then there would be a counter.
there are more counters to nanos than you think.
one of them sits right there between your shoulders, on the top of your neck. ---

if you invest the same on a inty as you invest in a faction-fitted vagabond, you can be damn sure that the inty will go REALLY fast.
