'Gameplay mechanics' are fine as they are. - Consider the time it takes to maneuver and align the bigger ships, I don't think holding down buttons for 5 minutes to turn your dread around sounds like much fun. - As for free warping, consider the fact that much of space has nothing in it. You ever run out of capacitor mid-jump and drop into the middle of nowhere? It's empty. That's no fun. - Skill training is limited to one per account to prevent people from developing chars with 20mil+SP without ever undocking and playing. - Leaving your ship and walking around stations will become available on the release of Ambulation. This will allow you to hold war meetings etc in corp rooms before undocking. - Ship customisation would cause lag of obscene levels. Fleet warfare is bad enough without the node crashing cos the server has to try and keep up with 400 different skinned ships.
But I suppose you can't keep everyone happy all the time. Maybe CCP should implement elves or something.

It is possible to change the ship's name - right click --> set name. but it won't be visible as a paintjob on the outside or anything, it will only show to players who right click --> show info on your ship _

EvE is a sandbox. What you get out of the game depends entirely on what you put into the game. And yes, EvE does have a steep learning curve compared to other MMO's, and you won't have everything handed to you from the off. Take a moment to have a look at the CAOD forum and you'll see the depth: power struggles between corporations, backstabbing and teachery, deep space exploration, sabotaged operations, pirates, and all out warfare. This is what makes EvE. If you try the game and don't like it, then fair enough. But you won't even have touched the tip of the iceberg if all you know of EvE is endless spamming of 'lol wher is deadspace complex'.
That said, EvE isn't for everyone. You could always go back to WoW. _

Originally by: Anthriel Skyfire I should have known a bunch of EVE playing fanbois couldn't look at my suggestions and critiques with a fair open-mind. You're all worse than the WoW players you claim to hate so much.
And to the people who think I can't experience everything in 14 days, I have played this game for 6 months a couple years ago. I know what there is to experience and what there isn't.
I don't understand why everyone thinks a graphics update was the greatest thing in the world. Do you want a pretty game to look at or one that won't bore you?
Come on, you can't honestly call anything in the first post a 'suggestion'. It was a slating complaint-mongering list of what you wanted to do but couldn't. Customize the appearance, wander around... this is EvE, not The Sims in Space. If you want to stick flowery wallpaper all over something or watch the back of a rendered 3D person then go play Second Life.
And the problem with having an open mind is that people like you come along and insist on trying to put things in it. _
To err is human, to forgive is against corporation policy. |
