First and for most, killing "defencless" miners does take skill in high sec contrary to popular belief. and i will explane why.
first you have to agro them. You can do this a number of way. I perfer to steal their full can of ore in a deceptively small and deceptively weak ship. After you get all agroey (pretty sure i just made that word up) to them they have to fly back to station and will usually get a bigger ship then you to come and kill you with. Or they may call in buddies. Or if ur really lucky they will agro you right there on the spot.
Whatever the case is when they come back in a bigger ship say a battle cruser or if ur lucky a battle ship :)now this is where the skill part kicks in. (i am almost always in my throax with 9k armor and tech II drones). Usually you gonna figure out what kinda guns they are using (short or far)and act accordingly. IF they are in a missle boat you are almost always scrwed due to the fact taht they never miss. Lets assume that a megathron with blasters is going to fight ya.
First off you need to remember that your target is a miner and cant do any actual damage to you. Because your a hard core pirate you will surely out skill and out maneuver the miner. Thats my basic law. of course im kidding, just saying that makes me apper like the king of ignorant vally or someting. Anyways back to the topic at hand. So he/she comes in with a blaster megathron. when you see this start your oribet at 15km. Why 15? cuz you will be in warp disrupton range of your target but out of web range so he cant get his guns on you if you keep moving. Very clever eh?
Aye, next you need to kill off the drones. thoes are the only things that can do actual damage to you keeping the miner at a distance. Once this drones are dead get ur donres on the mega and laugh like a pirate while the miner gets what he/she deserves.
So there you have it killing miners does take skill and some kinvery. thats more then any 0.0 gank squad can say.

all im saying is anyone can go to low sec and camp a gate with 15 other guys and kill anything that comes through. Is that really any better then going 1v1 with a miner in a bigger ship? And why does it matter what i do? Last i checked this is just a game :)
also yes the mega could be fitted a number of ways. but in the end it is still a miner and im counting on it to be ill fitted or ill experanced. eather way i will win.

im not saying that killing barges takes skill im saying that taking on ships that are bigger then you takes skill.

well some ppl arent as good. if they had any brains they would know a mining domi's only form of attack is the drones. so keep him scrambled and duh... kill the drones. if i read u correctly u said there was 2 of em.
i think 2 people could kill drones quite quickly. but thats just me.
i 2 also got 3 M in drones :) High five.

I agree. im not a PVPer. im a PVMer :)
But what people forget is when fighting the mega you have to remember its just a miner. it will not have a proper tank.

well sorta. <.< but its more then that. most miners have done missions and have fired at people so saying that they have no idea what they are doing is false. Just being in a smaller ship then them means you godda be more tactical. they out gun you. but you out skill them. who will win? well we know the miner wont cuz hes a miner. but they can get close
