5152 available systems in eve, at a peak weekend of about 40k users thats between 7 and 8 players per system if evenly spread.
If you break down the systems further its 1203 highsec systems 655 lowsec systems 3294 0.0 systems

Yup and if ccp adds any new space to the game it will have to mix in crappy systems just aswell can't add new space thats just all good systems cus everyone would migrate towards it. eventually all the really good systems will be camped by a single alliance those not in that alliance won't get a look in tbh we're slowly heading towards what eve china has done at a faster pace.
What really ought to be done is to add a diminishing returns system to a systems value so something that is valuable now if its over used in a month or so it will be worth jack and those valuable assets are randomly seeded elsewhere in low use systems.
1) Remove the infinite flag on ice belts 2) Remove all fixed asteroid belts and ice fields placing them into an exploration style system discovery system 3) Randomise the types of ore that occur within a system. 4) Make moon minerals no longer infinite 5) Allow moon minerals once depleted in one location to occur in another random location 6) Apply the diminishing returns factor to all of the above, the more something is used up the less likely it is to respawn in the same system Sig removed as it lacks EVE-related content. Increase the spawn to battleship rats, and the ore to at least crokite/bistot, and 0.0 won't seem nearly so crowded, as folks won't all need to crowd together as much.
There are 1028 systems with ark, bist, crok or merc in eve so just over 20% of the systems in eve have at LEAST 1 of the 4 highest profit ores. Sig removed as it lacks EVE-related content. Mail [email protected] if you have questions. -Hango
