If/When this get cleared up , it hopefully will send out the message to other ISPs not to implement similar stratagies which would impact a lot more of the Eve community.

Same old story though we can't give them feedback if the customers are no longer there, or not reading this post.

They also will sell you service at various grades, including nearly unlimited use (for a premium price). Right now, I pay about 70 dollars US per month for 15MB/sec cable internet with no monthly cap for upload or download and no throttling. ------------------ Let me show you around. That's my lab table, and this is my workstool. And over there is my intergalactic spaceship. And here's where I keep assorted lengths of wire.

Yes and that is the point , a game that uses less than 2 gig a month will be charged for at a premium rate. The structure will once again penalise gamers for what should be an amount of use given away free. But we are an easy target. Anyone now that swaps and gets regular connection to games will think their new isp are gods, and will pay for the worship.

It's 6.2 meg ( off a so called max 4 meg line , another lie) and throws stuff at me faster than I can assimilate, but not when I'm awake. I can play Eve and download BBC iPlayer progs, and do what very much the hell I want, BUT just not when I want. Unless I pay more. This is about forcing the market, a clever shift in ISP terms and conditions and a swap in service supplies, was it stealthy? I think they are getting away with it. Free upgrades and a tweak of the contract. I'm a long time Eve player and a long time Tiscali user, the issue hit me at the end of last year, I didn't change, they did. I wasn't an ass, h o le, didn't sign up for a cheapy, I got a fair priced service at the time, that served me well. It is not the same service I was getting anymore.

Links, comments and explainations of Tiscali issues are spreading, and the increase in that number shows the we are raising awareness and continuing the pressure to get Eve set free, and also maybe sending a message to others not to cage us.

I believe you are right about this , people are not aware that one day , they might wake up and realize that they have joined the large group of people that have been cut off EVE , its not only up to your ISP , as more and more ISP's doing this nasty stuff , it will be enough if only one server on your route to TQ doing this , and thats it, no EVE for you . i am not a tiscali customer , and yet experiencing the same thing , i have spoken with my ISP and they do not block or throttle , but some server along the route to TQ apparently does , and im f***** . anyway , good luck with this , i wish more people in the country i live would have play eve , so we can make more noise , but i only meet 2 peeps from my country that ever played eve ,one of them quited , the other on different ISP . and maybe CCP should start thinking how to bypass this thing ,as it seems more customers being affected by it every day .

So I phoned up for my MAC code and the guy asked me why I was leaving. I told him that his company throttle ports during peak time and he agreed. So they lied to me when I called up a few years back. As an additional stab in the back for leaving, they're going to charge me ú130 because I'll be breaking a 12 contract I apparently agreed to when I upgraded my service back in August. All I did was click a few buttons to upgrade from the 15 Gig cap limit. As far as I can recall I was never notified that I'd be entering into a 12 month contract. So just in case you Tiscali guys are thinking of switching to Pipex; don't. They're bastards and I hope they all die in house fires. Go with IDNet. More expensive (for their premium home service) but they don't throttle.

Brilliant, thanks for the ISP link, added to favourites. Will switch to this ISP the moment Nildram (owned by Pipex, which is itself now sadly owned by Tiscali) the moment Tiscali try anything on my connection. Good to see it doesn't require contract either, which to me means the ISP has faith in the quality of its product. What else can a year contract mean other than no faith in their product, and therefore the absolute need to remove your freedom to choose a superior product should theirs not be competitive? Watch out Tiscali, dont f*ck with my connection or i'll be gone in a flash :)

(Or so they say because I don't actually remember clicking on a new Terms and Conditions agreement). I've already told them that at no point was I notified I would be signing a new contract. They didn't listen and just gave me some legal mumbo jumbo. If I'd known I was going to be shafted into another contract I would never have agreed to it.
