I tried my 1st lev 4 mission with 2 corp mates the other day,i got nos'ed to 0 capacity, luckily i was in a passive drake setup. so i want to do lev 4 solo in a raven but bit worried about getting nos'ed with an active tank, so thinking putting 3 resist rigs rather than 3 * ccc on my raven just incase. I assume that most missions dont allow u to warp to a distance. Thx

The 3 CCCs will serve you much better. I've only got one in my raven currently, and it already helps a ton. I used to use a Cap Recharger II, now I swapped it out for another hardener (1 XL SB, 4 Hardeners, 1 SB Amp).
Tough to solo with unless you've got all Tech 2 / faction or officer gear on it though. -----

No, you just need to know which rats do this, sansha and blood do. So you fit an injector for those missions only where you know it'll happen, then kill the nos rats first.

Edited by: Meiyang Lee on 22/01/2008 16:08:42 Not many level 4 missions will present you with NOSing opponents (unless its against bloodraiders) There are some, but thankfully not many. Some missions (those without acceleration gate entrances) allow you to warp in at a distance after you went in for the first time.
And as an earlier poster already said, if you know there will be NOS, fit a Heavy Injector and run the tank off that.

A big part of the mission runners alt-tab, go to eve info or eve missions websites, and spend 2 minutes extra on each mission reading what ships do most damage, what damage type they use most, who scrams, who damps, who nos's etc. It helps loads.

sansha DONT do that.. only blood raiders do.
most blood BS do it when the get closer than 25km and some blood BC allso do it. so you got 2 options.. keep out of range OR... kill em before they get into range ---------------------------------- This is Me |

I don't think they're using nos but neutz because once in a mission my entire cap got drained by 3 npc bs. I read that nos only drains cap as long as the target ship has more cap than you so I guess they were neutralizing my cap instead of draining because they never stopped even when my cap was all grey... I had to fit an AB in order to get out of their neut range. I think it was the mission where you fetch some lousy spiced wine or a damsel out of a wreck that's 40km away and when you've covered like... 20 or 30km the npcs spawn and start permajamming.

Yeah I don't think rats really ever get balanced along with players :P
I haven't fought Serpentis in a while, but I bet when they Sensor Disrupt you it'll nerf your scan res and targetting range. Anyone can confirm?
Also you can nos/neut a rat dry and he'll continue repping/shield boosting, etc.

I can confirm. I just ran the Blockade and had a 10km lock range, and a 75 sec lock time with my Navy Mega... Rats cheat! *grumbles* ---------

Because they don't NOS much? I only noticed it on my Nighthawk and even then only when I started using a beam laser in the extra slot. With a semipassive tank the NH is a bit borderline cap-wise (1232 second recharge, lol). The Blood Raider NOS was just enough to push my cap below 50% which was kind of scary.
On my alt's Sleipnir the NOSing isn't noticeable. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

The only mission that has a noticeable amount of nosing NPCs is The Blockade against Blood Raiders. Archbishops and Harbingers are the only BSes that do it afaik, the real problems are the HACs which have some uber ranged and super powerful NOS iirc.
There is no 'n' in turret There is no 'r' in faction There is no 'a' in Scorpion There is no 'e' in Caldari There is no makeup in rogue drones |

Best way to deal with Blood Raider nossing is with range. Fit an AB if you need to, just get out of nos range and stay out of it.
Blood Raider Blockade is a piece of cake if ya warp in at 70km from the stasis tower.
