The assortment of ships entering their traps provides too many variables for there to be a specific ship type ideal for pirating. Due to sentry gun activity, pirates need fast ships that can hit hard and clear the zone before being destroyed. A pirate gang usually contains a mix of cruisers, command ships, and interceptors. " I have to wonder- are these people even playing the same game as I am? Cruisers and Interceptors? Wut? Are the people being interviewed simply giving the 'reporters' completely wrong information? Or are the reporters just putting in whatever they think is right and ignoring the pirates being interviewed? It always amazes me how out of touch with the game most CCP employees seem to be, outside of the very small core dev group. It's statements like the above that make them appear ridiculous. Well it's possible to survive between sentry cycles and fight in frigates if the target goes down quickly , with the Veto h4x but to mention it in the news sounds like the works of the inty manufacturing lobby. The news events always sound second or third hand, the "i heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy" sort of thing. I'd venture to say most successful low sec pirates don't operate at gates any more than they have to. Fail on the CCP news team though. They really need to start picking a wider variety of people to interview, and not quoting a single person throughout an entire interview on a subject, especially one such as this. www.the-bastards.com Ask me about recruiting options

As for Interceptors on gates??? you can't keep one alive even remote repping one. Who do i have to sleep with to get interviewed?lol Messoya is pretty hot at some points and there is often a camp on the Akora gate.

Ever since the Fitz von Heise article - that appearing in the news might mean for some that ccp fully endorses it, i've had this feeling that ISD are employed on total stupidity, now you know how i feel - probably others too.

And you have to warp out almost immediately. Cruisers can kill on gates.. Vexor, Rupture.. I killed tons of haulers while i was in Placid. You can pop him before he even aligns, so stabs won't help him. Sure, i can't tank sentries for long in a plated cruiser, but is just fine against anything that don't bite back and pops quickly. And in bigger gangs if your bigger friends have sentries on them you can push your way on that killmail and hope next sentry cycle won't be on you.. So, yea, it is possible and some of smaller/newer corps use it, but fact is these days it's hard to get any fight without carrier dropping on your head.. edit: disclaimer: there's no problem with the carriers, problem is with those darn isk sellers/buyers.
