Shintai,
Excellent post. You've seen first hand then that people who do work for themselves do have a drive to succeed?
We're not criticizing the way anybody does business. If you want to start "Socialist Mining" and keep 100% of everything in a pool thats your right. It's not our place to judge how anybody else does anything. I'm not trying to disparage anybody playing the economic model that suits them best.
We're merely stating how we do it and that we've had success. In a year if you look at the most profitable companies in EVE I'm sure the capitalistic companies will be in the forefront, not because they are better, its nothing personal, but because the economic model is better. The praise we've received isnt sought after it just happend. I am very impressed with the individuals who bought this BP. I'm jealous of them for having 100's of millions of isk when I've only got a few million. I want more and I'm going to work for it!
Thats the capitalistic way of thinking.
Pooling works for some people and is fine with me. Some people like different cars and pizza. People don't have to like what everyone else does. But to call someone a liar (not you) because they are spiteful is really uncalled for.
I'd challenge all with a "sense of doubt" to try playing capitalist for a couple of months. You'll end up with some very wealthy players (and some not so wealthy). Like the real economy (in the US at least) there will be haves and have nots. YOU have to decide if you want the socialist model (I hate the "communist" phrase) where the government (corp) supports you or the capitalistic where you have a chance for riches but you have to work for it.
I choose capitalist.

I just went over to your site and I have to say it's one of the best corp sites I've seen. Very professional. If I wasn't already dedicated to the corp I'm in I would join you in a minute, but I love my buddies and I'm locked in our mutual goals.
Sounds like you guys run a pretty tight operation. I would like to see more corps run like this.
I tend to reserve my feelings about things untill a lot of proof is there to merit a reaction from my part. I think there isn't enough proof to turn this great announcement in to a mud slinging fight. Perhaps there was a flaw in the wording of some statements that could have enfuriated some people or raised some alarms, but that would only need some better clarification.
"The human species suffers from a dimensional limitation. They are not able to understand that matter and mind are just one aspect of something more fundamental. We must strive to expand our perspective so we can see what our true reality is." Deep toughts by Mr.Pops, while consuming large quantities of Blue Pill and staring at the EVE gate in Genesis.

Man I wish the quote function didn't screw up the fonts. Annoying!
So anyway, in response to where you wrote: "Perhaps there was a flaw in the wording of some statements..."
I understand where you are coming from. Some of my colleagues get very excited over the way TTI runs because it is so different from how we've experienced other games, and that excitement overflows into their posting style.
I personally have an EQ background, and even though I came from a DKP guild, it still was nothing like Taggart. I'm really liking it, but I know from first hand experiences that other approaches can be just as fun, and in the end, all of us are here to have fun. As long as fun is had, there really is no "superior" approach :)

Aye I do Calladen,
But sofar my experience with the capitalistic model have been poor. In CoreTech we have it easy to do the socialist way, not only due to the low members we have (9). But due to the way we work and "1 person in a cruiser is better than 9 people in a frigate with 1/9th of a cruiser in assets". With that logic and economic we have managed to outrun most corporations in EVE. We got revenues and capital like a 50-80member+ corporation. I¦m impressed to see the pure capitalist model working at TTI. My first sight of it sofar *thumbs up* :)
That also why we picked the socialist way, we got same goals, and we believed in the same and it was easy way to get rid of any problems that the capitalist way have. But also yes, in the long run we might get short when the capitalist engine kicks in high gear. But sofar..100mio ISK/day is still not hard for CoreTech when all working together for one goal. We just didn¦t believe in the capitalist way in EVE due to the egocentrics and scammers in EVE. To see some TTI people going together to buy a Scorpion BP only makes us bow in the dust for the way we only thought possible in dreams and theori (utopia).
Nice work again, but we stay at the socialist way for a while yet.
And Megathron is soon coming to a system near you ;)

I'm concerned that what I posted may be misconstrued. In no way am I calling a company that pools cash Marxist or "Karl Marx Mining". Likewise my reference to "mindless zombies" wasn't meant to imply the socialist model produces those but to refer to TTI members not being "brainwashed" to group-lie which is where it seemed this accusation was headed with the claims we "do anything" to make it appear we're superior. We are not superior and being successful automatically causes some people to dislike you (just as in real life). My choice of words was poor and I apologize.
I don't want people to think we're "pounding our chests" at TTI. We're genuinely proud of what we've accomplished and how the capitalist model has worked for us. I was merely responding to the accusation we were "liars" and nothing more.
I hope people don't get the wrong impression by what I had written. It was done so after a long day at work with little sleep..... just as in real life my words could have been chosen better.
Lets move beyond accusations and recriminations and continue to earn money in anticipation of the Scorpion being on the market soon....... ISK FOR ALL!

Kudos for your accomplishment. But do remember not to alienate your prospective customers by impressing upon them the magnitude of your business acumen. Whether it is true or not is inconsequential; perception is all. If people perceive you as elitist, you will treated that way and in a capitalistic system, that can spell the end of a business dynasty (think IBM or DEC).
Hopefully we will be able to purchase one of your magnificent battleships in the near future.
Good luck in your future business endeavors.

Ivellios:
All of your postings just sound like jealousy to me. I can see how it could be VERY possible for a couple members of a sucessfull corp to be able to afford this BP. I got a late start in the game, don't play nearly as much as some, work alone for the most part, and have manage to accumulate a net worth of 150m+ so far. I can only imagine that people working as a team, with good business objectives, and effective roll management could have done 10 times better than me. That would put these smart and dedicated players in a position to do exactly what they have said. Doesn't sound elitest, sounds like excellant corporate roll-play.

Corp bis mining stints net my corp 30-40 mil for a few hours of mining, we made enough for our Thorax bp in just 3 days, so a Battleship bp is not that hard to get for an organized corp. Personally I think ship bp's should cost 20x as much as the ship or more, and BS bp's should be 100 billion instead of 1 billion, but that's just me. IMO battleship and cruiser bp's have entered the game much too early, well battleship bp's anyway.
