Tobin Shalim Vulcan Foundry	Posted - 2008.01.23 23:44:00 - [1] Insta-shield recharging while in a war. Background: our corp was recently war decc'd by **** (yes, I'm blanking them out on purpose) and we were subsequently forced in a station camp. We got enough ships together for a counterattack and were lucky when an enemy Raven had undocked. Instantly we were all over him like, well, something sticky I guess . So we almost had his shield tank destroyed at 15% left when he suddenly docked up (not an exploit, I know). However, he undocked immediately after with FULL shields. What he essentially did was to use the stations' dock, fitting, and redock to give himself infinite shields at no isk cost to him whatsoever. Unlike an armor tanker that has to pay to get their armor back up, he pays nothing by just playing with his fittings. This is allowing him infinite shielding at no cost whatsoever to him, and has even been exploited by the **** corp rotating on the people that are shooting us, until the docking timer runs out, and they dock back up to recharge instantly. So naturally a couple of corpmates file petitions over this, only to be told that this isn't considered an exploit. I'm sorry, but how is this NOT an exploit?

There's also an aggression counter of about a minute - you can't dock or jump through a gate for a minute after you've shot something. Here's a question though - what's stopping you from doing the same?

Of course this doesn't work if you have armour reps fitted. CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that.

Docking range of stations can be dozens of kilometers, dont bother petitioning it because its also a "feature". The stone age didn't end because we ran out of stones!

"waahh, make them stop docking!" The only kills you're going to get at stations, are situations where someone is dumb enough to aggro a ganksquad or when you're lucky enough to bump them far away enough so that they can't redock. This is what happens when a kestrel with thermal missiles declares war on earth
